My rule is, something should change at least every 8 to 16 bars. Either add something or take something out. It doesn't have to be much, you could move your hats from 1/8th notes to 16th notes, or add a very light percussion for 16 bars and then take it away. I personally believe this makes my music way more interesting. A for the drums, I usually do a different beat for the chorus/hook and verse. The verse might be somewhat intricate, but when the chorus/hook hit's its a 4 on the floor to make it simple and really catchy.

@@Laxrax_Music Very interesting, I do what You describe most of the time however sometimes I don't know the best thing to do because thid kick is so heavy but its a emotional piano beat but it works.

Good question. Cymatics attract a lot of people of course, but they also put people off because of how mainstream and popular they are. Some producers like to use loops which have been used less to make something more original, and if they're looking for a specific sound they know a particular producer has, they might be more inclined to go to that producer rather than others. On the sending loops, there is always the potential for people stealing but thats the case in a lot of industries, you send the terms of use with each loop email so people have no excuse, you can use beat id platforms to search the web for songs that include your loops and approach those people or go through legal process etc. it hasn't yet happened to me so its probably rarer than you think.

I'm definitely not saying to take away the personality of your beats by mixing them. Its about mixing them to make them sound good, which means there can and should still be personality even after the final mix :)

@@olihortonbeats personality IS about your melodies,arrangement,sound selection etc. Mixing IS a bonus. Not a goal.you would be surprised to know how many sounds in the charts were recorded on beats not mixed in mp3.

I'm assuming like BeatStars, Soundee would put their own tag throughout the free version to stop people using and stealing it even if you didn't put your personal tag in. Free downloads are a really good way to get sales over the line so I would personally turn them on, as I say aslong as its tagged throughout because then people can't use it.

Its a great point and something I'm still trying to figure out. Try to offer something different to them, whether thats in the style, type of samples, some people also like to buy from something/someone they feel a connection to so its also about building an audience

I do videos outside as muchnas possible but not very practical and still wasting My gear. I'm just gona have to force My self to do it and if naighbors bang on the wall, drill or what ever that will just have to be in the video.

@@kalumagel Music production is the arrangement of audio sources into sequence to make musical production. Sound design, engerneering, mixing, mastering, musician, singer, Rapper, song writer, are all additional skills a producer might have and are the elements used in production but are not in them selfs production. For example someone who only takes samples made by others and get other people to mix and master his music into to a finished production is a producer vs someone who sings, plays keys, and writes his own songs and records him self but dont put it all together him self into a finished product then He is not a producer.

Depends what kind of ‘promoting’ you do, good quality music is essential initially, once you’ve got that down you can definitely look at advertising but try also to grow organically through social media and content.

Yeh definitely, consistency is key with content, always easier to record things in bulk aswell and leverage what you record to create multiple different videos in different formats. But yeh absolutely consistency is very important!

There’s always the potential of that happening but you can send the terms of use with loops so there’s no excuse for the producer, you can also use beat/content ID to scan platforms and see if anyone’s used ur loops without giving credit/splits and then follow up with them :)
