4 Weeks Out From The Brighton Marathon
I’ve got 28 days showing at the moment and I wear it pretty much 24/7 but I’ve just charged to full for the first time. On Saturday I put it on charge and it powered up showing about 18 days so didn’t bother charging it any further as I wanted to get it set up. On my 6x pro it would show 21 days on a full charge and I would only need to pop it on charge maybe once every 2 weeks or during a big training block once every week but what I’m going to do from now is when I jump,in the shower just pop it on charge then so it will get t-10 minutes each night and I won’t have to worry about battery life.
I have the same watch but I dont get the advertised battery life. How is your experience?
Looks like way too much upper body work, for a runner!
A little sleep before breakfast. Holy cow! What time did you go in the gym?
They had 1 leg machine
I was at the gym for 6:30, most times I tried later in the day a few times but it was toooooo hot
Can iPhone max fit inside the pockets ?
No it won’t fit I’ve got the 13 and it just fits.
May I know your waist and the size you went for the light speed react tight? I’m thinking about getting an exchange for a smaller size that’s why I’m asking. Thanks for your help.
I’m a 31 inch waist and got the medium also 5’11 tall
You know who I am? Tip: only use carbon for actual races! I know you’re a Nike man. Invincible for long runs and if you have them Streakfly’s for speed/tempo work.
Yes brother dear 😂 your name appears in the comments welcome to my channel 👍
Are you training in your game day shoes, or training shoes, if you catch my meaning?
I have a good shoe rotation, invincible run V2 vapour fly V2 and Alfa fly V1 & V2, I’ve stopped using the Alfa flys for training runs as I’ve run in them already and use the vapour flys for anything with speed.
Ya 3 weeks from a marathon is crazy. I'd probably be in recovery mode still haha.
To be fair I was having my doubts this morning but once I got there, i started to feel more confident and I gave it a shot and it paid. When it got hard i kept telling myself “There’s more within dig deeper” and that really helped
Good luck for race day 👌
Thank you 👍
Embrace the suck. Good advice.
Sub 90 half?
That would be the goal, I’m going to start off at that pace and hang on to it for as long as I can
Great run. Best wishes out there.
Thank you
Well done! Curious to know how much you packed into the pockets of the lightspeed react pants.
I didn’t put anything there for the marathon, I used a belt as I had my phone and the GoPro, but when I did my first run in them (half marathon) I got 2 gels in each side pocket and probably would have got 3 each side if I needed. Not tried to put anything in the zip part yet but think it’s for keys or money and there seems to be storage in the belt/wast band as well. Will update you on that this evening 👍
There also a lager pouch at the back in the waste band that could store more big enough for a phone and some gels
@@RunDivision Nice. It was either these or the Nike Lava Loops half tights (they have heaps of storage).
Well done mate, amazing effort and a super time especially in that heat and the wind. I suffered with a bit a cramp at the end so didn’t finish quite as strong as you 🥵🤣
I had to break stride a few times to avoid pot wholes etc and as soon as I did I could feel cramp coming on so I slowed down and ran it off I knew if I stopped it would be game over it was a great day for the supporters 🎉
Great running 😊💪
Thank you
Thank you 👍
I was trying for sub 5 and at 28km completely cramped up. Had to walk the rest of the way. Well done
There were a few times I broke stride and could feel cramp starting so slowed down and managed to run through it but I think I was only able to do that because my hydration was spot on.
It was tough conditions to run in being the nicest day of the year so far, this was my 3rd Brighton and the first time i didn’t need gloves and a hoodie at the start, the lack of shade didn’t help either. Great effort though you pushed yourself to the limit well done.
@RunDivision The funny thing is I felt myself about to cramp as I was running, and I said to myself stop and stretch and as soon as I did that, it was game over. Will need to work on my hydration as I was covered in salt sweat
@@Euwanh85 I had a sweat test analysis done at the endurance project which looked at the amount I sweat and the sodium (salt) concentration in my sweat and from that we worked out what my hydration plan was and it was spot on definitely worth doing.
@RunDivision - WELL DONE! Brilliant effort! Hope you are recovering! I'm editing a short piece on the marathon and need about 10seconds of generic footage. Would you be happy for me use a little of yours by any chance? 🙏
Of course you can
@@RunDivision 🙏🙏🙏
Nice to relive the memories from yesterday (although you skipped miles 14-25). I ran 3.28 so must have snuck past you at some point. I found the atmosphere was electric most of the way around and it was a pretty amazing event to be part of.
Miles 14-25 I was struggling and had to focus 😂
@@RunDivision Weren't we all!
Thanks so much for that information as it is not only interesting but also helpful. Perhaps when you describe your training and efforts say 10 x 200 and 400’s you could put the paces you run. I would find that really interesting. Finally well done yesterday I was out and about on the course supporting my son and found the hill up to Rottingdean long and tiresome even walking it which must have had a major effect on times achieved.
Thank you so much for the feedback and will include it from now on 👍
Well done, can you confirm your official time as I got the impression it could have been sub 3.30 of just over. Also you mentioned your hydration so perhaps you could share what, how and frequency as that would be interesting.
3:31:32 official time, I took a sis beta gel every 30 minutes. I also took on board about 500ml of water every hour and one performance hydration electrolytes tablet every hour. However this was all because I did a sweat test analysis at the endurance project at the sea lanes in Brighton which worked out my sweat and sodium loss and from there hat came up with a plan for the marathon. Hope this helps.
Nice I was in the same wave and finished 3.28 in the end. It was my fourth marathon and the first time running Brighton. The crowds were amazing.
@@neil1974uk the crowds really make The Brighton Marathon special

Thank you it was all I had on the day so very pleased with it ❤
Great running, well done 🎉
Congrats on the pb 👌
Thanks you 👍
Nice to see me at the end 😊. Hope you were pleased.with your time
I was pleased, however looking back I think I could have put a lot more into the training lol. However I’m already looking forward to next years and looking to get 1st in my age group. But given the wind I’m happy with 45 minutes how did you do ?
Well done, a great time on a very hilly course and some nice wind 😂 see you next year.
Absolutely this course makes everyone a stronger runner, good luck with beachy head 👍
@@RunDivision thanks
Nice meeting you today, was a hard run in that wind, go smash Brighton now.
Thank you todays vlog should be out shortly, lovely talking to you too
Good luck out there.
Thank you it was a hard day in the office so to speak but felt great to have finished it
Nice park run out for you. I'm just up the road at Lancaster. I'll be your subscriber no.2. Best wishes with your running and your channel.
Aww thank you any advice would be welcomed are you training for anything at the he moment?
Good luck on your training. Best wishes.
Thank you, it seems like such a long time ago now. I learned a lot from my first marathon this year. I finished in a time of 3:45 and change with a hope of maybe a sub 3 attempt next year if training goes well 👍
