Hey mate. If we're talking around the world, definitely not the most fun. But in Sydney, it's not bad. There are more fun tracks in Sydney, but Picton Karting has the fastest rental karts in Sydney (23hp vs regular karts being 9hp). Saves me from taking my own kart out at Eastern Creek since I'm pretty lazy Hope that helps!

@@chowmien3392 That's a pretty good lap for someone new to the track/faster karts. Where do you feel you were losing the most time? Yes I am at the top of the leaderboard! Though they did recently reset it which helps. There's still more time to be gained though, my fastest before the leaderboard reset was a 32.995!

Nah mate, you definitely need to brake there. There ain't no way you're going through that corner at 90km/h no matter how warm your tyres are

You're probably thinking of the 15hp karts which you can and should take flat out as one "big corner"

My partner is not that good at warming up her tyres which means she only gets a few laps in each session where the tyres are fully up to temp. I decided to warm them up for her and swap so she can have a warmed up kart much earlier in the session :)

It’s all about how they get there and how they just grip round the corner! On warmer tyres though, you’re generally pushing 90km/h which is pretty good when you consider the whole straight is up hill

In that session - 33.7. But we’ve been down to 33.2, and one of the guys on track at the same time has a 32.9 What are your times? :)

I brought my own helmet. I think some of the helmets have the standard clip mount on them but will depend on availability! Can't hurt to bring it just in case

It isn't but if you're fast and you're in control, then they won't say anything. Its uncontrolled drifting (or bad kart control) that they care about because that's dangerous

@@krxs15 Unfortunately it is attached stably. Bumpy track + old GoPro with no video stabilisation ends up with that unfortunately

It's a special gold kart that you can drive if you qualify (set below a certain lap time). Ask them what the cut off is next time you're there :)

Nice lap time! I actually don't remember but it was high 35s. These are gold karts (where if you set a time below the threshold, they allow you to drive). Fastest lap on the gold kart was 33.232 on the second last lap. I never felt fully confident in the kart though (tyres were shot so it was like driving on ice), if i had abit more time, I reckon I could have got into the 30s.

Eric Yu I just did mine on a sunny afternoon with cold start on a school trip, but have driven go karts most my life , if I did it on a gold kart I’m not sure what I’d get

Do you have any footage of your session. Happy to review it and give you some tips. In the mean time, watch this and let me know where your racing line differs. You should be full throttle on all but one corner - czcams.com/video/rbxN2TFIKFM/video.htmlm5s Also, just a note 36.4 is pretty good, you shouldn't beat yourself up too much about it. A lot of the time with rentals, it comes down to luck of the draw with the kart (a lot of inconsistency with grip and power) and your own weight. If you lost 10kgs, you'll probably shave atleast half a second!

Eric Yu my line is almost identical to yours except the last corner(the one that the pitlane starts on) i brake a bit on the left hand apex before turning in. Is it possible to just lift off?

Yeh I just lift off and try to carry more apex speed. I sorta try to induce a touch of controlled oversteer to help rotate the car. Works 9 times out of 10, but you'll see I miss the apex a couple of times. Also I think I could be taking a better line through the corner on the opposite side of the track (the one where you need a touch of brakes before turning right). If I went back, I would probably be further on the left to straighten the corner and have a better apex speed rather than having a better entry into the corner.

Wasn't the smoothest track I've been on, but I've been on worse! Centre of the track was decent, but the sides weren't (which is where you need to be to maximise minimum apex speed)

First lap is compulsory warm up lap. Their main Gold Kart wasn't working, so I got put in a secondary one, which the guy said had shot tyres (hence why i'm sliding/tentative through corners). My best lap was a low 32s. What are the lap times on the new Rimo Karts?

Low 32s, but I was using the secondary kart, not the main one (which broke down). Lot's of lap time left on the table
