Can we map the keyboard to the jukebox?

Does the micro sd card have to only be used for this prop or can you use one being used for something else? Since it doesn’t have to stay in the board?

Hey Keith. Excellent tutorial...as always. This is such a great product. So many possibilities. Here is your F-prop in action. Two singing props 283 nodes each. 1 prop per output. The first round of programming is set up so that on power-up a sequence plays with music and no talking. I have a PIR sensor mounted on the front of the prop. When a person approaches the props...it triggers a talking sequence to play. Once the sequence completes...the board returns to play the background sequence until movement triggers the event again. I'm trying to import my Vixen 3 sequences and not having any luck. thinking maybe this would work. but I don't know how to create a data layer when I click data layer there is nothing for me to select.

Amazing, I've been looking for this type of functionality from other software but never knew it was hiding in xlights the whole time. Question, if I have multiple controllers in use, how do I set up the loopback ip in xlights? Do I set the same loopback ip for each?

I've just been exploring a Twinkly festoon PCB and I'm wondering if it uses two voltage thresholds below 24V. Possibly a sync pulse for each start of frame? There are two resistors connecting from the positive rail to the green and blue LED driver pins. It's amazing they can thrash as much data along a pair of wires without swapping polarity RS485 style.

Awesome, so how does one add and connect, say, two LOR CB16 controllers for a total of 32 channels? I've imported singing tree sequences (AC) from LOR, but I've not had any luck with the various methods I've viewed on YT to connect via the LOR RS485 dongle. Do they have to be set to DMX?

Hi Keith, I just started using xlights to run my pixel matrix. Do you have a video that shows you how to change each pixel on matrix?

This video was done two years ago, and it saved my bacon just today. Yes, a few technical things could be improved (screen size and clarity), but I was able to follow it. I had searched all over, watching a few other videos, and then found this one. It is very straightforward and easy to follow. I set up my 16-port LR Receiver from HC in several hours. Keith, I'm having trouble. The grid keeps snapping passed my audio and I can never really get the lights to go with my audio.

My notes are not importing. not sure what the problem is. is there maybe a size cap for midi? it completely halted my sequencing

I’m someone who will only be using XL to control my traditional light show. I have no plans to use pixels or anything similar at this present time. I just recently downloaded XL and I’m trying to watch videos like this to learn.

I had 2 models overlapping some how. I used the fix start channel option and it removed the model from the controller that model doesnt show up in visualize. How can that be fixed?

Any websites where things like this are discussed?

Hi Keith - As you know, xlights is not great for controlling DMX fixtures. I want to simply be able to add MIDI notes to the timeline in xlights, so I can have my other software thats good at running DMX trigger based on the MIDI note played on the timeline. Playing MIDI notes on a timeline seems like something that is pretty common among applications to trigger events. xscheduler could local loopback the MIDI notes, so my other applications could trigger lighting scenes.

How does this handle sequences and other sub directories. Specifically media, picture files, palettes, etc?

So now in 2023 'm having issues. Static Arp didnt solve my issue. light perform great when outputting from Xlights But very choppy in Xshedule. I get the turtle even though my show is on an isolated network. from pc to router to 2 controllers.

I bought some 'addressable' festoon lights to look into (not arrived yet). I'm thinking they may use a similar approach / protocol. Time will tell....

I believe I may have a generic version of the EXACT same pixels you have! They're all over Amazon now as RGB Christmas light sets, and unlike those, they're suuuper cheap! But the controllers for them don't have WiFi at this price point and really suck, so I'd love to hack them. They have only two wires and run at 29V, and on an oscilloscope the signal goes between that and 10V just like yours.

impossible to follow for a beginner, very fast with little attention to details. mouse cannot be tracked. may be useful for advanced users but not for beginners.

Despite hearing/seeing the name mentioned a number of times on FB pages today was the first time I came across someone using these lights. This video has been my first dive into whether there is any boards been developed to get full control over these lights.

Cool product. It's not something for me with a small, under 10k led pixel show would use, but it's a nice advancement for those large shows.
