    I have been trying this. In higher gears it feel way better, I feel like I can go really high in rev range and not overload the transmission like I would if I pulled the clutch in at that rev range. But from first gear to second I cannot do that smoothly lol any tips?

    Going for a 250 or 300 is definetely the safest option for a first 'big bike'. Never start out with 600cc or 1000cc supersports. If you're going with anything MASSIVE, go with a 650. The thing is with 600s and 1000s they're built for performance. 650's are built for road riding. Now that's my opinion as I've started on a 650. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with a 300. I'd always recommend a 300 or 400, lower displacements towards newer riders.

    This is about where I'm at with my wheelies right now. I swear you have to rev the shit out of these smaller bikes though. It's kinda scary. I was reving close to 8k rpms and my front tire only came up maybe 12 inches tops. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I feel like I'll be damn near redlining that thing to get a decent wheelie going. I don't think I was staying on the throttle as much as I should though

    • @seangavin2263
      @seangavin2263 Před 3 dny

      You can power wheelie a 300. Get up to about 13-14 mph in 1st gear let off the throttle for a half a second then gas it fully, and give it a pull up on the bars, it’ll pop right up.

    alr so i've a ktm rc200, i added a simple winglet to it too just for looks. so i did pop up a wheelie several times but it was just very little like barely a feet from ground, so is it cause of those winglets that its producing down force? also will dumping clutch multiple times, damage clutch plates???

    • @mrbishop833
      @mrbishop833 Před měsícem

      @@immortalgaming5478 dropping the clutch is harmful for the bike in some way, at least from my understanding. In terms of the winglets, I don’t really think they would be significant enough to cause trouble with wheelies. I’m not a physicist, but I would imagine those winglets don’t actually produce much downforce until higher speeds.

    I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and I ride mainly to commute everywhere. It makes the mundane commute to class way more fun everyday. I've only had it for 2 weeks now but I'm sure as heck planning to keep it for as long as I can and ride it everywhere, for business and for pleasure. It's been about two years now since this video was uploaded, have you sold your bike?

    I'm just wondering if balance point wheelies starved the motor of oil, does it need a oil pump mod?

    • @NoesKicker
      @NoesKicker Před měsícem

      If you do them for a long time they do but if you are only on one wheel for a few seconds it's probably fine. I'm not a doctor though. I've seen videos of guys like brian_636 ride out wheelies on stock bikes. Obviously their stunt bikes have the extended oil pick up but they don't seem to mind doing fairly long wheelies on stock bikes either. I'd say as long as you aren't exclusively stunt riding the bike it's fine.

    Question. What if I’m like on the highway in 6th gear. And I dropping a gear multiple times or just a single gear. Will I pick up more if I shift down multiple times ? And then do I shift back up ? How does it actually work

    • @mrbishop833
      @mrbishop833 Před 3 měsíci

      Well you have to be careful with that. Most important part is paying attention to your revs, as every bike will vary to a degree. In general, the higher you are in the revs for a given gear, the more torque. Hints the purpose behind “dropping a gear to disappear”. However, you wouldn’t want to downshift if you are already very high in the revs for whichever gear you’re in. This will cause the bike to engine brake HEAVILY, depending on how high in the gear you are before downshifting. If it is too severe of a downshift (meaning you’re already at very high revs before shifting), it can actually cause a loss of traction due to the abrupt engine braking (similar to panic braking too hard on the front brake). As for shifting back up, yes you do have to shift back up. Once you’ve dropped a gear, you will be in the high rev range of that gear, meaning once you accelerate, you’ll quickly have to go back up a gear. Essentially all you’re doing is downshifting to temporarily increase your bikes torque output (which makes you go faster for a short time). But once you’ve expended all of the power from that lower gear, you have to up shift once your bike bears redline. My advice would be to simply learn the limits of your bike, you can shift down multiple times if you are in a low rev range of whatever gear you’re in, but you must know this will send the bike into very high revs in a short amount of time, which can be pretty jarring. Just be careful, and always practice in a safe location. Ride safe!

    Keep this bike between 4K-8k rpm and it will live for ever! Everybody that gets one hops straight on the interstate and melts the engine! No engine will live long at 9krpm for very long. If you just have to ride at 90mph all the time get a 15 tooth front sprocket and it will still take it. Just gotta keep the R’s down on these! It’s a town bike a beginner bike not a screaming 600cc that can go to 15k rpm!

    Cool Video exactly you dont need something super fast/ these days in that price range all that is offered are sports bikes to commute weather they are the cbr300r or the cb300r which is sporty looking to, there is nothing else in that price range besides low displacement scooters, which are not a bad thing, it all depend on where you live, there are not many cruiser style or even standard style bikes in this category anymore, the Vstar 250 is one, i would like that one, but i Live in high altitude, i knew someone who had that and it for him at would not reach highway speed up here. wish there were more standard style bikes out there, instead of all these batman looking things, im young not old by the way, guess i will look into Royal Enfield

  • @RR98guy
    @RR98guy Před 5 měsíci

    CBR300R or Yamaha R3 is more than enough bike for most sensible riders 90 percent of us. Just because you can get a faster bike does not mean you should. Most riders with 600's and above are in way over their riding ability. Those bikes should only be bought by highly skilled riders. Most of us are no where near the skill level to safely ride those higher power bikes. If you can keep up with a rider like V Rossi then congrats the rest of you should save your money and stay safe on a 300 or smaller.

      Kind of a double edge sword. I say the 300 is too small and 600 is to much. My 500 is enough that I can get on it if i need to in order to avoid being in a bad spot but not enough to power wheelie whenever I pin the throttle
