They NEED mankind, or those of us foolish enough... to take the knowledge they give us and use our unique abilities to create a 'Technology', though has previously existed, but they are unable to replicate on their own, to 'Open' what they believe is an permanent, 'Portal/Stargate/Doorway from their 'Dimension', into ours.
