LIVE: Polaris Dawn Launch! SpaceX & Elon Musk comments on the FIRST commercial spacewalk!
SpaceX is scheduled to launch the Polaris Dawn mission to low-Earth orbit on Tuesday, September 10 at 3:38 a.m. ET from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The mission has two additional launch opportunities within a four-hour window, at 5:23 a.m. ET and 7:09 a.m. ET. If necessary, backup launch opportunities are available on Wednesday, September 11 at the same times.
The Dragon spacecraft for this mission has a notable history, having previously flown Crew-1 to and from the International Space Station, as well as Inspiration4, the first all-civilian mission to orbit. This mission will also mark the fourth flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster, which has previously launched Crew-8 and two Starlink missions. After stage separation, the Falcon 9’s first stage is planned to land on the droneship "A Shortfall of Gravitas," stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
