@@rsubie no an H engine is two flat engines placed on top of one another and the cranks are connected via gears The best example is the H12 in the leman winning car the Porsche 917
@@sagenbabin8786 No, noone in modern day thinks of these nonexistant engine types when they hear H4 or H6. It's always horizontally opposed engines, its so in official promotional materials from Subaru, its either boxer 4/6 or h4/6 motor. Flat engine is also incorrect because only shared crankpin car(which also is not a boxer because of that) is Ferrari Testarossa. In both Porsche and Subaru engines it's independed crankpins and boxing motion meaning both pistons go outwards and inwards at the same time. Flat engine is more like some of the V motors where it cant do that, when one sides piston goes up other one goes down. This is why Subaru and Porsche horizontal/flat engines are boxers.
@@nthgth Yes, for intends and purposes that's what it is. There are differences from that fact like crankcase doesnt exist and ints instead a splitblock design, but in basic principle it is a flattened V design.

Hmmm like rb26
Porsche 911 at home:
this video is the main reason i am getting a subie
Made my day with that comment bro. Appreciate it
I hope that's not your actual licence plate haah
Filmed on a closed course 😅
Goddamn that sounds amazing. My JDM Legacy sounds a bit boring with EL headers...
Nice NA sound.
sounds like an inline 4 superbike
Sound's like a Porsche.
Uses a rather similar H6 engine, my 18’ Outback in higher rev ranges sounds sort of like an H6 911
1:59 is the best bit.
Agreed!
whats the set up

They should’ve offered that engine in the Crosstrek
Agree, but a WRX powertrain Crosstrek seems a lot less of a pipe dream
i straight piped my h6 but have way too drone, back with stocks one for now
Straight pipes will always sound shit and drone. Mufflers are your friend
It’s technically not a h 6 it’s just a flat 6 an h6 would not be possible
The H means Horizontal 6 means Cylinders H6

If you’re just rolling at 5 mph or so, I think you may be able to bypass the 5k rpm limiter
"Boxer rumble" is great and all, but a 6-cylinder wail is its own kind of awesome. Great sound you got there.
it is a boxer tho

Did you swap your legacy into a ez30 (h6 ) or h6 from factory We dont have h6 wagon legacy in canada !
Factory spec b 3.0R. Australian delivered cars came with the h6. Have seen a few swaps around the internet but not locally
You can import from Japan
Wow that sounds really good considering. Usually they sound terrible with headers and high flow cats. Somehow you managed to keep the rasp at bay
