This is basically how i feel about christianity as a whole. At best it verifies that people believed a certain thing without empirical evidence that their deity is actually real. People believe claims of claims in religion. If god could be proven, then you wouldn’t need belief. A common theme i see with those that experienced biblical visions is that a lot of these men were going through some sort of bodily depletion, or they’re being conquered or imprisoned. I find some atheists and religious people a bit prideful because they don’t embrace uncertainty that all humans, whether the acknowledge it or not, has. No one is certain because it is impossible to be. They only have the perception of certainty, which gives them confidence. It blinds them from their doubts, which are in my opinion, rooted in reality, due to our limitations. Thinking or believing that you know is NOT the same as knowing.

In Luke 24:38 Jesus describes a ghost. And says he is not one. Says he has hands and feet and bones and ghost don't have these things. He did not correct them saying you are believing in something unreal. Human ghost are scriptural. There is also a place in Acts whee he say about the same thing. Also a place where they thought Peter was one.

Virtually every critical scholar who works in this area is persuaded by the evidence, including the famous atheist New Testament scholar Bart Ehrman (who even wrote a book refuting Jesus mythicism). Ever seen the Oxford Classical Dictionary? This is a scholarly reference work and it raises zero doubt about whether Jesus lived. Same with the secular book, Cambridge Ancient History. The section on Christianity is written by a famous classicist about the historical Jesus. What do you find so compelling about mythicism?

I picked up the leather touch CASB (Christian Apologetics Study Bible) today. I would have preferred larger text, even on notes. Also was hoping for Red Letter version (not sold in this version). I don't understand why people still print Jesus's words in black. It's harder to dig what he says out of the mass of text. The optimal equivalence method of translation seems to be okay. I'll know more the deeper I get into it. Happy to say there is sufficient margin to place notes. Other than those two issues, I will use it but don't know if it will replace my 1984 Thompson NIV which has decades of notes and is getting a new cover.

Spirits and angels are with us all the time looking after us. We have spirit guides helping us but a lot of people don;t realize they are with us. There are no demons, they don;t exist whatever it says in the Bible. Why do people always go to the Bible to find answers?

    • @apologeticsguy

If you believe in spirits and angels, your worldview already allows for demons. That is a designation for rebellious angles and about a third of all angels fall into this category, according to the Bible. Why do you doubt the Bible’s teaching on these rebellious angels but not the existence of spirits and holy angels?

Hello. I am an atheist. I define atheism as suspending any acknowledgment as to the reality of any particular god until sufficient credible evidence is presented. My position is that *_I currently have no good reason to acknowledge the reality of any god._* And here is why I currently hold to such a position. Below are 11 facts I must consider when evaluating the claim made by certain theists that a particular god exists in reality. To be clear, these are not premises for any argument which _concludes_ there to be no gods. These are simply facts I must take into account when evaluating the verity of such a claim. If any of the following facts were to be contravened at a later time by evidence, experience, or sound argument, I would THEN have good reason to acknowledge such a reality. 1. I personally have never observed a god. 2. I have never encountered any person who has claimed to have observed a god. 3. I know of no accounts of persons claiming to have observed a god that were willing or able to demonstrate or verify their observation for authenticity, accuracy, or validity. 4. I have never been presented withany _valid_ logical argument, which also introduced demonstrably true premises that lead deductively to an inevitable conclusion that a god(s) exists in reality. 5. Of the many logical syllogisms I have examined arguing for the reality of a god(s), I have found all to contain a formal or informal logical fallacy or a premise that can not be demonstrated to be true. 6. I have never observed a phenomenon in which the existence of a god was a necessary antecedent for the known or probable explanation for the causation of that phenomenon. 7. Several proposed (and generally accepted) explanations for observable phenomena that were previously based on the agency of a god(s), have subsequently been replaced with rational, natural explanations, each substantiated with evidence that excluded the agency of a god(s). I have never encountered _vice versa._ 8. I have never knowingly experienced the presence of a god through intercession of angels, divine revelation, the miraculous act of divinity, or any occurrence of a supernatural event. 9. Every phenomenon that I have ever observed appears to have *_emerged_* from necessary and sufficient antecedents over time without exception. In other words, I have never observed a phenomenon (entity, process, object, event, process, substance, system, or being) that was created _ex nihilo_ - that is instantaneously came into existence by the solitary volition of a deity. 10. All claims of a supernatural or divine nature that I have been presented have either been refuted to my satisfaction or do not present as _falsifiable._ 11. I have never been presented with a functional definition of a god. ALL of these facts lead me to the only rational conclusion that concurs with the realities I have been presented - and that is the fact that there is *_no good reason_* for me to acknowledge the reality of any particular god. I have heard often that atheism is the denial of the Abrahamic god. But denial is the active rejection of a substantiated fact once credible evidence has been presented. Atheism is simply withholding such acknowledgment until sufficient credible evidence is introduced. *_It is natural, rational, and prudent to be skeptical of unsubstantiated claims, especially extraordinary ones._* I welcome any cordial response. Peace.

BTW, if you ask where I'm "from" or where I was born, you'll get 2 different answers so it's no big deal that Jesus was born in Bethlehem but was "from" Nazareth. More likely, Jesus was from Sidon where his father, Tiberius Julius Abdes Pantera, owned a home. That is why Jesus was called "Yeshu ben Pantera" in the first and second centuries. See Mark 7:24 where Jesus, uninvited, enters a home in Sidon and hopes to remain inside undisturbed so that he can get some rest from the populace.

I wanted to try to do ghost hunting but I was scared it was against the bible this video helped me get through some moments of dought.

Glad this was helpful. Thanks for watching! BTW, I'd be wary of ghost hunting, as this activity may distract you from the kind of godly spirituality that brings freedom. Many have become entrapped in darkness when seeking out such spirits (i.e. spiritism, divination). God bless you.

I am getting bombarded by atheists on instagram. The Bible is fantasy. Jesus is made up. Anyway

Thank you for covering this topic. I find people who are not Christians doing TC's of the Bible, in places like TikTok. They have high following because people are mesmerized by their abilities to point mistakes of which they are also mistaken.

Interesting! Yes, studying TC can actually give you a greater appreciation for how God has preserved his word for us through the faithful labors of many people. Thanks for watching!

@apologeticsguy please explain to me why there are so many similiarities in people's experience of NDEs in terms of love, non judgment, life review etc, from all walks of life, and can provide medical evidence of their near death (ie most likely not to have an ulterior motive to lie about it) Explain to me how this occurs when there are often no brain activity, why it is so drastically different from the arbitrary nature of hallucinations as confirmed by leading doctors on the study of NDE cases? Explain to me why there is often described a sense of knowing stronger than the knowing of this reality and in most cases they come back more spiritual than religious? Explain to me why there is almost never any mention of hell or sin in any of the NDEs? The basis of New testament is the written word of 4 unknown authors decades after Jesus' death. I think that thousands of accounts portraying a consistent version of the afterlife that mostly have no hidden agenda, and verifiable near death with verifiable identities that are still alive and can be questioned, would be much more reliable than the basis of modern christianity dont you think?

    • @apologeticsguy
      @apologeticsguy Před 2 měsíci

Gary and I believe that some NDEs are real and mentions of hell are not rare. No, the basis of Christianity is actually the death and resurrection of Jesus (the earliest mention predates the New Testament). If Jesus is really divine and rose from the dead to prove it, his teachings are more reliable than reported NDEs. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

One con I would have with this Bible not mentioned here is its gender neutral language

Sometimes what might seem culturally motivated brings out the sense of the Greek better as is the case for phrases like “brothers and sisters” instead of just “brothers” and words like “people” instead of “men.” Is that what you’re talking about here?

The Saints have a question ask the Holy Spirit and study the Bible. My sheep will know my voice. He is alive not died . Still talking to us like He did the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit first b4 you ask man.

This is my second comment. I had an interaction with another man yesterday and I told him that Jesus loves him. He told me that he used to be in the church and he used to go with his grandmother as a child frequently. He is 35 years old now. He told me that when he was a child, he had a lot of questions and when he asked his questions, he was shut down by his pastor who told him he shouldn't be questioning God. He told me that he had questions about Noah and the ark. He was asking the pastor how Noah, who had no experience with building boats, was able to construct the ark. He asked how Noah was able to fit all the animals in the ark. He asked how Noah cleaned up their bowel movements and urine. He asked how Noah kept the predators from eating their prey. I told him that it is OK to have questions. I told him that I had wondered how Noah kept the birds from flying away. I then told him about the Ark Encounter in Kentucky and told him that was on my bucket list of places to visit. He told me that he grew up Southern Baptist and he doesn't know what to believe. He said he read the Bible from cover to cover but he didn't believe what is in it. He said that he had done a lot of studying of Roman history. He said that he found a story of a man who wrote that he fished out people (actual bodies) from the sea. Then he said to me that when Jesus said that his disciples would be fishers of men, it was in the literal sense. He said that Jesus is possibly a fictional character derived from the historical life of a person he found in his history books. That is obviously heresy. I told him that he may need to have an actual encounter with Jesus instead of relying on his grandmother's faith. I told him that I'm sorry that he was hurt by his pastor all those years ago. I explained to him that I have been hurt by people in the church as well, but I learned to separate the humans from Jesus and realize that when I am hurt, Jesus is hurt more. I also told him that when I myself fall short and hurt people, it hurts Jesus. And I told him I've had to ask God for forgiveness for misrepresenting Him. Then the man kept going back to his story about how he thinks Jesus is a fictional character. He also said that the Bible is contradictory. He said that one part of the Bible says that Adam was made from dirt and Eve was made from dirt. Then he said that another part of the Bible says Eve was made from Adam's rib. I asked him where in the Bible it says Eve was made from dirt. He was convinced it was in the Bible. I told him I've never seen it and I've only seen where Eve was created from Adam's rib. He was at work and had to leave to finish closing. I asked him if I could share my testimony with him. He asked me to come see him at his job in the future. Do you have any feedback on how I could engage with him? Also he kept talking about how Jesus was a fictional character, he did KEEP saying over and over that but he could be wrong. He is lost and searching and not unwilling to engage in further conversation. I would like to go back to speak to him fully equipped, however.
