When a lore butchery video game based on the whole 'cool and edgy' power fantasy thing....still manages to depict SOMETHING better than a giant lore butchery but worse and dumber most expensive fanfic tv show! Well...then you know someone f.....d up! :):):). But seriously...jokes aside, there are SOME elements in the cutscene that I like (right till that moment when all lore and sense goes to s...t with the 'take him to Mordor'), among them the presentation of Sauron/Annatar storyline (even though the games devs also didn't have proper licensing rights to other texts The UT or Silm) showing him being 'lord of gifts' using flattery and fake benevolence and outward friendliness with a sinister goal in mind (though the scene with him side evil eying, giving that evil foreboding, while the Celebrimbor works on the rings according to instructions might seem like cliche it was effective visually :)) and I also like the moment when the One Ring is forged in cutscene....because it well...shows that: "For in the day that Sauron first put on the One, Celebrimbor, maker of the Three, was aware of him, and from afar he heard him speak these words, and so his evil purposes were revealed." This is basically THAT scene, Celebrimbor is just casually at work in his forge and then wham he senses, sees/hears things from afar while we don't hear the famous words inscribed on the Ring, (which falls under the things wiht weird changes, hell Sauron would have made the inscription himself he would never allow anyone else to handle his ring!) this indeed is that moment of the 'telepathic' connection farsight moment of sensing. The visual design is also nice (though what the narrative of the game did is another matter), Celebrimbor, elf-lord of Eregion! In my opinion the game should have used Eregion location in some capacity! And a decade...yeah the first game came out in..2014...so soon it will be :). The cutscene definitely also gets somewhat better with movie music here :) heheh.

Only a genuine special, wheelchair bound person could ever actually think that rings of power is "better" than anything from the tolkien world, including the worse parts of it, like the last hobbit movie, or, the old lotr cartoon movie. All of this, is better than the rings of power. All of it. Hell, even the new Gollum game, which is total ASS, is better than the rings of power. By a large amount. Let that sink in. The gollum game, which is arguably one of the worst games of the last 5 years, let alone in the middle earth games universe, and is very easily the worst game that's been made with lotr content, is by MILES better than the rings of power. By absolute miles. There are levels to this. And at the very very very bottom, lies the rings of power. You have to travel an insurmountable distance to even begin getting close to the next worst piece of media in this franchise. THAT'S how bad ROP is. That's how poorly its regarded. That's how offensive it is.

What they are is extremely high quality and beautifully executed power fantasys set in what most would consider an alternate universe in middle earth terms, of sorts. Which is absolutely fine. Not every single thing in a franchise needs to be lore friendly and strict about it. In fact, things would get extremely fucking boring extremely quick if that's how things were done constantly. A true fan can put aside the established lore, and enjoy the less narrative driven entries in a franchise, if they're done well. Which, by golly, the mordor games truely are. But seriously. Taking lore accuracy when discussing shadow of games is missing the point entirely. There are a fair few times when these games very liberally give a wide berth to the established lore, and for good reason, and to great effect. These games would NOT have the freedom to be as awesome as they are if they were tied down heavily to lore "rules". Then fuckin GOD that they aren't. Honestly, it's like if star wars: the force unleashed had to strictly follow the lore 😅😅 can you even imagine how different those games would be if they were lore friendly? One guy, bringing star destroyers down with the force? Nah, but "he can lift rocks and push people a couple feet !! Cool, right? Right guys? That's the power fantasy you guys were looking for, right? You wanted to play as an extremely over powered sith, right? You wanted to unleash the force, as it were, right? Well, we gotta stay within the rules here obviously guys, we can't have this dude pulling star destroyers down from space single handedly while also dealing with multiple tie fighters, 😅 yknow? We gotta respect what the universe looks like up to now, so that it all fits together real nice. But hey! We can definitely let you get some force push going on!! For sure! And who knows, maybe you'll even see some of the lighter in weight objects being thrown at enemies, too! Wouldn't that be cool! Now this, is force unleashing!" So, yeah. Lore can die in a corner as far as I'm concerned when it comes to certain video game entries. HOWEVER. That show, rings of power, has a fucking responsibility to get it right. Tv shows, movies, that shit NEEDS to be right. Narrative driven content, MUST follow the lore. So i totally agree with you. That show is ass, and is an insult to Tolkien and his fans. Not only is the lore completely disrespected and ignored, but it's also the single most woke piece of shit I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. And that's saying something in a world like the one we are living in today. A world in which she-hulk show exists. So yeah. TL:DR ; Fuk rings of power, and play the shadow of games if you're a fan of middle earth. Cos you'll have multiple detections throughout. 😅 sorry for the novel. Im passionate about this shit. Lol.
