Finally the 3130 engine is starting to go back together! In this video i will be installing the cylinder liners, these are wet liners. This means the coolant is directly in contact with the cylinder liner. I have tried to explain the best I can how to do this (As I am learning how to myself as well)

So, the strip down is upon us! in this video I will be stripping the engine ready for machining, and to also see if there is anything else that needs replacing! The crank, cylinder head and block will be sent to @BarumEngines for any machining work, and an engine kit will be ordered from @VapormaticPartsCo

    Now i totaled the whole cutting bar. the long bolt shaft what runs trought the section is bend. it is 280 long. or lely 550p it has 2 bars. But where i can get that long bolt?

    Just out of curiosity, I’ve watched this video of yours as well as the 6 cyl rebuild videos and I was just wondering if the 50 series 6 cyl versions have ballancing shafts along side the crank?? As I’ve got a 3050 to rebuild at some point! TIA

    Im not sure is my hex driver shaft little bit rounded, but seems to be nightmare to get it timed right so that the first two blades do not touch each other.

      You can time it with the teeth on the gears as well, so when you're assembling each bed section, leave the bolts loose so you can adjust them a couple of degrees or so by the teeth, if that makes sense

      ​@@seggonscontractors588 i did that, but seem that the drive shaft is so wornout that those hit what ever i do. So i took little bit off those blades with angle grinder.

    Hey man ...!did you cleaned a main oil hole that ends with oil pressure sensor? I have done this job already ,but have no video ... And my second main bearing oil hole was blocked too .... oil line to oil pump had crack ... good luck ,,.... want to hear a running sound and smell a smoke😂😂

      No! I've tamed the local John Deere dealer and they let me have it for the weekend, you can buy them, contact Nick Young tractor parts, I'm sure they stock them

    Good to see some more progress👍putting the axle on first will visually seem like a big step forward but I'll bet you curse it, having to keep walking round it whilst you finish the engine off. Look forward to the next one whichever you decide.👍

    HAD PTO JUMPING OUT GEAR WHILST ROTOVATING AND GRNDING EVERYTIME THE LIKAGE LIFTED 60+ YEAR OLD DEXTA I DRAINED OIL LIKE SLURRY OUT UNDID 4 BOLTS PULLED SHAFT OUT CCIRCCLIP HAD BROKE BY USING PTO SHAFT THAT WAS TOO LONG( HAMMERING CIRLCIP) 2X CIRCLIPS £6.50 EBAY 1 X SEAL £9.50 EBAY BEARING STILL GOOD. THE SHY TEEOLD OIIL FROM ABOUT 1972 GOING BACK IN TOMMOROW. SORTED

    Thanks for this video. Great choice those EBC rotors. I installed the same ones on my Disco 2 V8 along with Akebono brake pads. Excellent braking power with minimal brake dust. 👍🏽 Replacing my rr hub is my next on my list to do. I got the 3-amigos and my Nanocom identified the rr hub.

    Hiya Carl enjoyable vid as always, this reminded me of my many years I was a stockman on a local dairy farm until he sold the herd and decided to rent out the buildings to the horses folk, he made an absolute fortune doing that and he only need one person to help run the stables anyway was still one of the best jobs I ever did, also I'd say most of those cattle are British Friesians as they are a smaller but bulkier breed, that's why the Holsteins look so much bigger than the rest of them but I could be wrong it has been a few years since I worked with dairy cattle.

      You're right it does! I've started to grow quite fond of this group of heifers. Normally, it's just a job to get a bit of winter cash in, but I'm enjoying having them this year!

    Best practice would be to use a permanent marker to mark liner to block so that after you have measured protrusion and you put the seal on you get the liner in the same spot you measured it at. Used to enjoy building JD engines, really satisfying when you get them running again.

      You are probably right yes, I think the machining of the new parts has come on a long way from when it was first built, as they were all very close to one another in the measurements 🤔 I can imagine it is! I'm enjoying the build anyway as it is something that I like doing 😊

      Thank you, I bought them 2 or 3 years ago from a guy in Holsworthy, he makes them for all makes and models, he's called Bradley Ley I belive, I would highly recommend them to anyone running lots of machinery on the roads, as it saves alot of pressure washing!!

    Wauw, that is black on every side of the casting. As I recently bought a 2140 myself I look for all possible tutorial videos for problems I might one day run into. This job I will follow up until the end. Can I just ask if you could put some extra work lights on the piece, so novice youngsters like myself get a good insight on what you are taking off and where it came from :D good job and keep doing what you are doing best!

      I'm glad to hear! I'm not sure as I borrowed it! All I know is I didn't have anything even close to the right size! Hence the monkey wrench! 😂

      You are 100% correct, but the trouble is, I don't have the time! I do have a spare 15p engine to go in it, and the knowledge on how to do it.... but time is a valuable thing 🤷‍♂️
