it really depends on the settings, youtube want to default av1 i'm sure but it's hard to encode

@@ytistrash It is harder to encode especially on hardware that doesn't support AV1. In a few years AV1 will become the standard for sure.

@@ytistrash Yeah, I'm still surprised we still use h.264 AVC instead of h.265 HVEC. Slow to adopt for sure.

@@Saaahdude29 and this is mcc, what's the problem? all the strats used in this specific run would work all the same, and neither side is objectively easier (but imo original was easier because of 30hz tickrate allowing easier swordflies)

basically, the red reticle from a longer range weapon carries over for a very tiny amount of time when switching to the sword, so just cancel the animation (to allow swinging instantly) and lunge :D

If you think being careful and shooting enemies takes more skill than multiple frame perfect inputs + risky strats + knowledge of the mission then that must say something about your aim.

Speedruns have always been like that. It’s not about killing enemies, it’s about knowing the level

@@ytistrash Obviously you haven't played Halo 2 on Legendary if you think being careful is less skill than not even fighting them. The enemies can kill in less than 1 second.

i've been playing the game for probably almost 20 years, i've played it on legendary hundreds of times, i think i know it's difficult, but considering less than 50 people have beaten this time you must realize it's a bit harder no?

Try doing this yourself and you will see it takes a whole lot of skill. I can beat this on legendary, I can't do it in even half this time. I do get where you are coming from, a speedrun category of time while killing every enemy would be interesting.

youtube streams just don't support av1 yet i think, it can sometimes be forced on videos by uploading in 8k resolution but might not be guaranteed

nah i never did it enough for that, just like moonwalking between gens or moonwalking around for a minute or 2 if i'm in swf
