Could you do the cole Hamels trade tree?
You should examine the Braves and Padres trade in 2015. Braves sent Craig Kimbrel and BJ Upton to the Padres for Matt Wisler, Cameron Maybin, Carlos Quentin and a draft pick (that ended up being Austin Riley). Lots of subsequent deals happened after this initial trade as well.
I’d like to see an ever evolving trade tree. So for example once Price is traded to TOR, loop in the blue jays and see Price’s impact on that organization. It could be cool to see the whole network with all the teams
I show up for trade trees bro…
Would love to see more of this type of video!
As a die hard Expos fan i hate this trade so much
i can't believe jolly olive didn't give an s/o to you for inspiring his video. just know, we noticed
One interesting trade tree is the Indians/Braves Kenny Lofton for David Justice. It leads all the way to Corey Kluber believe it or not.
Oh boy. Can't wait for 10+ challenges dragging the game on forever over one pitch. This is after implementing some of the dumbest new rules to make the game end faster because everyone who attends baseball games these days for some reason wants to go back home as soon as possible. Meanwhile they're still going to need the ump there so he can call someone out on plays at the plate. Worst thing to ever happen to baseball is technology. The "box" on the screen has made every joe schmo an expert and expect perfection in a game that has always been defined by it's imperfectness. It doesn't take into account catchers who are effective at framing, and pitchers whose pitches have a decent amount of movement. Take the box off the screen, and there would be a lot less griping about something that's supposed to be entertainment.
Really enjoy this kind of deep dive. We need more people taking the available umpire data, poring over it, and deciphering it for others.
Very interesting topic to discuss
If you have the data, doing a regression from umpire age to accuracy could be interesting. I've heard the hypothesis that as umpires age, their sight becomes a little less precise.
average age is higher, along with we have better technology to catch every single mistake. Plus, no one ever apologizes to the umps after seeing the replays,.
I would love for MLB to do some kind of ump cam in spring training to show what 102 fastballs and 90something splitters/ sliders look like. I know I fall into the trap of seeing it on tv with the white box and calling an ump trash but pushing 95% accuracy is impressive. Still hope for a challenge system, it’s unfair to the umps to expect them to be Perry every single pitch
Love the vid dude!! 👍🏽
One thing I’d like to see some research on is the egregious calls, ones that are X amount off the plate like the one Dalton showed. I’m a pretty casual fan who will keep up with my team and check twitter every so often just to see what’s going on around the league a bit and I’ve seen at least a dozen calls just this season that are laughably bad so I’m curious if those are just popping up more or if it’s a true overall decline in performance from the umps
Really high quality content, man. Keep it up!!!!
In no way did the marlins will the trade with the Yankees 😂😂😂
Fun fact Monte Harrison is now a college football player
Great video man. Love this channel. Hope to see more soon!
I'm a Cardinals fan and I hate their trades so much. All they do is give up insane talent
Marlins of 2024 going to be the worst team in history
2018 orioles
Jt requested the trade and said he would hold out until he was traded.
It's insane that out of all of the names that the Marlins didn't flip the one that they did was Zac Gallen, the Diamondback's ace and one of the best pitchers in the league. Never change Marlins, never change.
What about Jazz?
@@Xd1981xd Jazz isn’t as good as Gallen
Nice video👍
can you cover the Reds firesale in 2021-2022?
1997 marlin firesale. Maybe the 2012-14 Phillies trading victorino, and Rollins and utley trades, even though it over a period of 3 seasons. I also have an idea for you. Lopsided trades, ect Carlton for wise, pippa/ Robinson. Bag well for Anderson
orioles 2018 firesale at the deadline is fascinating because of just how bad it was. o's traded for a ton of players and barely any of them even made the majors. final middle finger Dan Duquette gave to the organization, wasting a chance to help the future he had destroyed over his tenure.
Marlins trades ranked by what they got back: 1. Ozuna (lol cardinals) 2. Gallen 3. Realmuto 4. Gordon 5. Stanton 6. Yamamoto/Polanco 7. Yelich
Can the Stanton one be a lose-lose too? Trading your best player, after his best ever season, in which he won MVP, while he's under contract, and getting nothing long-term in exchange for their MVP winner is 100% a loss to me. He might've not lived up to his contract, but the Marlins didn't trade him because they thought he wouldn't be good, they traded him because he was owed money they didn't feel like spending. That will always be a loss to me.
Throughout 2014 and 2015 the Phillies tore down the core that had won 102 games in 2011, and been to 2 world series in 2008 and 2009. While not as spectacular as the Marlins tear down, it might make for a good video because the Phillies got basically nothing of value causing our "rebuild" to last the better part of a decade.
Utley, Rollins, and Victorino really weren’t good after they left. And we actually got good stuff from the Hamels trade
I foresee you doing a video on the 2024 marlins in your future
Lamba
Trade tree idea. Nick swisher to the White Sox trade trade. This trade tree includes players on the A's 16 YEARS after the trade and is up there as one of the most lopsided trades I've ever seen.
This is my favorite baseball channel. Love the simple, deep, objective breakdown.
Love this video!
Yo Z, I got a trade tree you can really sink your teeth into. 3 team trade between; the Mariners, Indians, and Mets. December 11th 2008. Have fun big guy.
Had Fernandez not died, I have to think they would have delayed this significantly. They were really close to being a World Series contender
Yeah, the teams only weakness is really pitching
They were taking trade offers for him when he died. Sadly, I think had he lived, he'd have also been part of this fire sale.
@@TheNotoriousJP definitely, marlins mo
The only one they should of kept was yelich.
I dont know how deep this trade goes, but its got MASSIVE amount of players involved. 4 team trade in 2004 between the Redsox, Cubs, Expos and Twins. Nomar Garciaparra trade.
I feel like "Of course not it's the Marlins" would be an often relevant t-shirt
After Jose Fernandez passed the Marlins had no chance
I want to see the 2012 blue jays marlins trade
What’s with the Yankees hat
Such a shame. This team had so much potential.
Can you do the Yoennis Cespedes trade tree?
We loved Hardy in Baltimore!
Damn, right we did
There is no war in ba sing se. There is no war in ba sing se. There is no war in ba sing se.
Chavez is like Chavez from Young Guns. He’s a what Billy the Kid calls a ‘Pal”. Plays Absolutely Lousy for every team not named the Braves.
