Had some wine so here's my 2 cents. You don't need that many radiators in a narrowboat. Feed them from the gunwales and you can get rid of that boxing on the floor. Subway tiles in a shower cubicle, Use the flat ones not the bevelled, then you don't have issues where the two sides meet in the corner.

The boat looks stunning. I hope the owner has many restful years aboard in which to be thankful for the privilege of traveling the canals. From the design on the side of the boat I can see that the famous and historic Rest and be Thankful pass road near Loch Croe is the inspiration for such an apt name.

It really is a matter of choice. The Ovation Boat shells are bespoke, and to customer preference, as are the internal fit outs. Most customers prefer the semi cruiser stern nowadays, for the social side of boating, but the shell can be any design........as you can see from Willow's front deck. Most of today's customers prefer a modern look but Ovation Boats can build a more traditional narrowboat too! 😊

We are in 2023 and these companies are still using diesel and propane. Why are these boats not all electric??? Please don't say expense!! The running costs will be negligible. No wood burners, No propane, No diesel and silent, pollution free boating. Wouldn't that be grand?

What happened to narrowboats having some character. Every new boat coming from a whole raft of manufacturers now(not craftspeople any more), looks identical to any one from many other builders.....and some of them (not Ovation I might add)have shocking build quality. Bring back some style, some flair, some ingenuity, not just a boarded out curve free metal tube with a cheerfulness factor of zero.

Living aboard this would certainly force me into a serious declutter. The shower looks like everyone aboard can view the user... Or, maybe the whole middle of boat is closed off with doors when shower in use.

This is the first time I have seen spray foam installed on bare Steel. Usually the process involves spraying a zinc epoxy first to protect the steel in case of any air pockets.

Thanks for the video...I am amazed that bricks are used which increases maintenance costs and issues. I was wondering how surveyors are supposed to look at the interior of the steel hull below the floor level. I know that this system works as there are hundreds of these boats around however it seems an odd practice. Steel plates welded to the underside would be better (lower the weight and less would be needed). I love the quality of the finish of your boats and the layouts are great.
