The issue here is not multiculturalism but absolutism. Those two things cannot coexist and have never been able to - something that in some ways has been recognised throughout human history and is usually expressed as what we would call 'freedom of religion' but also might include 'freedom of language' or 'freedom of custom'. Whichever group a person is in, whether religious, linguistic, political or racial there are two choices: one can live one's life surrounded by difference, learn about it and accept it as normal or one can refuse such an option in an effort to attain a specious conformity and through that, a wholly manufactured sense of 'safety'. It is absolutism, or the refusal to countenance any form of difference among our peers that leads to societal strife. It doesn't matter what those differences are - what matters is the absolute refusal to allow them. That way lies strife and violence - it always has and it always will. What is most important is the realisation that nearly all groups that coalesce around issues that are seen as important will have absolutists among them. This is a given. What should not be a given is the lending of a spurious authority for these cliques to speak for their group as a whole. This is the trap our modern media and especially social media sets for us. In our modern world, we need to remember that our media supplies us with 'reality', yet relies on confected drama to make sales and doesn't really care where that drama comes from or whether is it accurate or not. Where rules are in place to limit or deny direct falsification, inuendo is the fallback position. Abuse of individuals is the end result of either. Acknowledging this and being alive to it, we give ourselves a freedom to act according to our natures rather than an imposed set of rules. While no panacea, it leads to people almost always following the Golden Rule in the interests of self preservation. It is not a given that media is your friend or your ally. All too often the opposite is true. Be careful who you give credence to and avoid absolutist tendencies and things will work out. Those who listen with gullibility to every made-up drama our world presents us with and react to it ultimately achieve nothing but foment dislike and antipathy.

The women's decision to not select one person with the most experience to lead them was their biggest mistake. Doing it collaboratively was to rely on how each person felt rather than relying on logic and structure to do what was necessary. There was no real division of labor with the women. It was a contest more of feelings-(women) verses logic-(men).

Men fared better because of the biological factor, our ancestors were hunters, built wooden houses, carried weight frequently too and didn't mind dying, many used this masculinity to attract and conquer women and have children, this explains a lot

I do not mean to insult or give offense, but I think that Hitchens would point you in the direction of some historians and writers who were direct witnesses to successful ethnic pluralism, in India, Kenya, Brazil, the US, etc. I gather you're British, and that the UK has a problematic history with the successful implementation and realization of policies aimed at ethnic pluralism. But, again, respectfully, you are simply wrong when you say it never works.
