Worst summer for at least a decade.
1 set of bad weather clothes for Scotland..rookie mistake😂...we did 11.days on lewis and harris this may and a week on mull last may..got really lucky with the weather...most stunning places ive ever been ..especially harris......Islay next year
I've done Islay, too, actually - it's beautiful but a very different vibe 😊 enjoy and, if thinking of doing a distillery tour, definitely pick your distillery before going as it's too hard when you get there, too many to choose from - enjoy! 👌

Obviously not a happy traveller. Best avoid the West Highlands. Last time I took a ferry from Dover to Calais there was vomit everywhere due to the heaving of the vessel. The ferries are 'cheap' as you put it because of road tariff equivalent subsidy to mimit the disadvantage to the islands. Cheap make it sound like ramshackle ships.
I very much enjoyed the trip, will have to improve my messaging if that didn't come across! cheers

yes, their phrase "this item was **collected from* ...." on their boards did irk me...stolen, looted, taken, etc. would be more appropriate

maybe in most places, yes, but this was in a ridiculously expensive and posh part of London, so I guess it will work to some extent

Hi Stephen, Thank you so much for uploading this video. I've recently travelled for work and looking for an accommodation. As you had mentioned all the places that I have been recommended are so pricey and not worth the money (I'm currently living in a dorm). Please could you suggests some places that I can look for an affordable home.
Hey there. It's tricky to say much beyond the points in the video - I only know of good deals from notice boards in cafes and the Bali Advertiser, plus driving around areas you like looking for signs for 'kos' / 'rumah kos' or 'kos kosan' are what I would recommend. Best of luck.

How do you stay there long term? How to do the visa?
You have to go through visa agents or have an employer willing to do it for you. It costs around US$1200 F for a year's work visa, plus agent's fees and possible travel to Jakarta, depending on your country of citizenship.
