Excited to watch this tomorrow on my commute
Thank you ladies! Haven’t had much "me" time lately, but finally got a chance to watch. Really enjoyed being able to hang out and listen to the happy chit chat - looking forward to the next episode. Hugs from Down Under … 🥰
Happy to listen to you both. A former New Yorker obsessed with Rhineback and the autumn Kind of wishful thinking living in Florida. Oh well. Aiming to start knitting once again and striking a balance between planning/dreaming and avoiding being overwhelmed into inaction.😅 so i picked the first yarn and the most recent yarn purchase from Rhinebeck. A shawlette which i finished and an off the axis sweater. Hope i finish it or off to frogging it will go. Thanks for reading and happy creating at any speed.
Best of luck! be sure to catch up on our other episodes too!
Hey from Wyoming, like your vibe…less is more ☮
I appreciate your goal of remaining ad-free!
I love that T-shirt!
No, they aren't a part of it anymore unfortunately. :( Meaning Ewe and Me. Love you girls!! Another great episode!
Hi from England xxx
Omg! I love you girls!! I am so innn with you two! You are my people, I am subscribed and I will go back and listen to the first 4 episodes.. I will also share with my knitting bestie!!
Thank you so much! So happy you are with us!
I think also with the wool vs acrylic debate, you also have to look at how long these garments will last for me? if you are going to get more use out of an acrylic garment than a wool one, then go with that and vice versa.
Yes totally agree. The more I research the more I realize how complicated it is. It depends on perspective and what yhe goal is. I think that's why I keep coming back my effort to just consume less. But that is also tricky and complicated!
I switch needle types whenever I feel like I need to. If I see my tension changed a lot, I will go up or down a needle size. Sometimes I just change the right needle if I am knitting in the round. It’s not a big deal for me, at least.
The colorful granny squares could look cool as a bag
Hello. Just found you on the CZcams home screen. Glad to have opportunity to watch. Thanks for sharing!
Hello from Tennessee!!! 😊
Hello! I used to live in TN!
Can't wait to watch tomorrow ❤
Just hopped on as it is your first.....hope to watch many more...looks great so far...😊
Hi from Fruita, Colorado. I went to YarnFest in 2019. Enjoyed it but can’t handle driving through the crazy traffic on the Front Range anymore. Have you been to the Salida Fiber Fest? It’s just big enough to have plenty of vendors without the overwhelming crowds and it’s a beautiful drive too.
Definitely on our list for next year!
New subscriber! Loved listening to you chat this morning. Baked goods and souvenir yarn get me every time. I am usually a cuff-down sock knitter, but I would like to make some toe-up to use up the maximum amount of yarn. I will give the Turkish cast-on a try very soon!
Ahh! You're in the right place. So glad you found us. ❤
Hi! I am a Colorado native: lived 30 yrs in Denver metro area. Now living in western hills of Maryland.
Hey ladies! I wanted to weigh in on being “a creative”. It is opinion that being paralyzed at decisions is not a symptom of lack of creativity, but fear of making a mistake. Maybe experiment with small decisions. Take risks with color on hats and socks. At the end of the day, if the sweater color choices don’t work…rip it out! 😘
Fun. Wish you were closer to the camera
Agreed! I noticed that on the video too that we are a bit far. It was an attempt to make the table visible . . . I think we will make a change for next time to get a bit closer. Thanks for the feedback!
I do turkish cast on too, I discovered years ago that my favorite sock knitting experience is two at a time, toe up, heel flap and gusset, size 0 needles. I knit until about 2 inches peeks out of my Blundstones, I have probably 70 scrappy pairs since determining my love for this method.
oh, and I cast on 14 on each needle and increase to 32 (64)
Do you have a go to pattern you like?
If I do get to a yarn store when traveling I like to buy notions, so that I remember that trip long term. I bought sock blockers in Cannon Beach, Addi sock needles in Issaquah, etc. And one of my musts when moving (often) is that we are within walking distance of an amazing public library (absolutely one of my third places).
I love the library as well! And also the idea of buying notions as a souvie! Perfect!
I really like your premise. Can you mike up? The echo makes it so hard to hear. Thanks. I've subscribed anyway.
I'm so happy to find this podcast, all the fiber arts content is so consumerist. :( And there are SO! MANY! ADS! Your videos feel like hanging out with my real life fiber friends, with similar values to boot. :) Cheers from Detroit!
Yay!! So glad you found us! ❤
Thank you so much! So happy you are here.
First! Love you babe
Thanx ladies! Am all caught up now! Really enjoyed this episode. I was spinning while I was listening, and I managed to get quite a bit done - spinning up some Merino to make the Andrea Mowry, "Weekender" sweater, cos ya know, it actually gets cold in the tropics …. 😂 Well, we have an average of 31 Celsius all year ‘round, so anything under 20 is freezing to us lol! 🥶🥶🥶 Looking forward to your next episode. Keep up the good work … 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cheers From Down Under … 😜
I grew up in Miami so I completely understand this lol!
Soooo enjoyed this episode! I have so much in common with you ladies it’s bizarre - totally agree with the idea of making less, but making it count more. I was a dancer in my younger years, then went on to teach art/craft for decades (mostly things that are in danger of dying out), have been a show judge of said arts and crafts, am a qualified naturopath, prolific spinner/knitter/weaver/crocheter, even though I live in the Australian tropics, and am currently studying music (handpan, djembe and the Irish bodhran). I am also a passionate storm chaser and wildlife photographer. Bottom line is, people think I’m absurdly weird, but my life is rich and full. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Trouble is, it’s sometime TOO full 😂. It’s been a pleasure to listen to your happy chatter while I "slown down" and do some knitting in my comfy chair. You ladies are a breath of fresh air …. 🥰 Hugs from Down Under (Darwin, Australia) 🌴🌴🌴
Thank you so much! I LOVE hearing about all you are into. We do sound like we have a lot in common. I have a lot of diverse interests and things I have done too and people also think I am weird! 😂 Thanks for watching!
Hello Ladies! Watching from Darwin, Australia. Congratulations on your first episode! Looking forward to many more to come …. 😁
Hi from Edinburgh
My making less goal this year is to use what I already have. This goes way beyond crafting. Makeup, hair products, food, clothing, etc. I'm done with collecting, buying, saving stuff for later and giving myself permission to just use what I have. 🌸❤️
Congratulations on your first video! 🌸
Hey from Virginia! Love your philosophy on making less and making it count.
Good podcast from Belfast Maine
Amazing podcast ladies!! It came recommended on my CZcams and I was thinking “I recognize those gals!”
Ahh yay! Glad you found us!
😂 thank you! Glad you found us!
I love stitching to these chats.
Thank you! Happy to have you with us!
Awesome video mom, keep up the great work!
Thanks you my darling boy!

Congrats on being the first commenter :)
Hey mom, its me (the kid you can barely hear in the background making popcorn). I love the video, keep up the great work!
I'm trying to make less scraps or waste this year. When I sew a garment now, I make sure I find a way to use up the remaining fabric - little gifts like coffee cozies, small pieces for underwear, hexies etc. I'm trying to use up my stash this year too, trying not to buy new fabric unless it's essential.
Love this! I never really know what to use small scraps for or even how to store them. Good food foe thought!
YES! You had me at your channel name. Let’s all enjoy our process of making and stop working about production!
That's the biggest lesson I've learned as an adult....quality friends over quantity. So much lonelier in a room full of people that you're not connected to. Love your podcast!
Thank you so much! We are glad you are with us!
