A Second Chance | Sal's Heart and Kidney Transplant Story
Born with kidney disease and previously suffering a heart attack, Sal needed both a heart and a kidney transplant. Despite previously being told he was not a candidate for a new heart, Temple Health’s expanded heart transplant criteria gave Sal a second chance. Sal received his heart and kidney transplants in May 2023. A year later, Sal is able to live life to the fullest again which includes time spent with his wife, daughters, and son and enjoying summertime at the shore.

This surgery might be the only way to escape from Gerd. I am tired of suffering from it everyday. I take proton pump inhibtors and I start to suffer from the side effects of them and from the continuing acid reflux
I know this sounds crazy but usually acid reflex is caused from not having enough acid. Proton pump inhibitors will only make your situation worse . Try taking some HCL in the middle or beginning of your meal after a couple bites. Start with 1 pill then if you don't get any burning after a while then bump up to 2 pills and so forth but be careful and go slow on bumping it up. Let me know if it helps.
What is HCL? My doctor prescribed omprazole but the thought of kidney damage bothers me. Is there something else I can take over the counter that doesn’t have very bad side effects?😢
@@ladylex1406 well actually I am taking omperazole right now and Its not as bad as I thought. There is some side effects but I would rather have those side effects than having the horrible symptoms of acid reflux
It's the five year mark that's the hardest.. Can you keep it off with a life change or go back to the old ways. 15 yrs later after GBS.. I kept off 75%, which should be lauded as a success.., but I want the super skinny back before I die ... I'm 68yo. The PROBLEM is, once you feel perfect - you can never be perfect again. Da....
