Such great cars....the only drawback is the 305 with the 5 speed. I'd definitely swap it out for a 5.7 with aluminum heads, cam, intake...ect. It would be great with some more power. And that body style is a hell of a lot easier than the 4th Gen Camaros as far as engine modifications and removal.

Beautiful car, love the 3rd gens. I have a 83 Z28, all original except the modern LS based drive-line. Makes the car a hoot to drive, searched 4 years to find a rust free one, finally did.

I've also got the 1991 camaro dealership poster. It's the same one of the red car in the brochure just much bigger.

Very nice Z28. I've had a lot of third gens for almost 20 years. I've had 88-92 camaros and trans ams from the LB9 305 5 speed to L98 350 autos and LS swapped ones. My only regret is that I didn't perseve a blue 92 Z28 I had I got it cheap because the fuel pump was bad and it the paint was sun baked I got it running and sold it. Love this car this is best of the best. I honestly would want a 305 5 speed TPI with G92 package it's just as fast if not faster than an L98 350 auto depending how good you are. This car sounds perfect with the mild mods done to it

Had a 1983 Z28, 5 - speed in dark brown metallic. Bought it new in '83 for $13,800. It was a hit every time I went to the gas station. It had the skirting ( ground effects ), and beautiful color matched cloth interior. Sad that it only produced 185 hp from the little 305. But, it was a fun drive to Vegas in it several times. Awesome styling in the early 1980s.

My dad bought a brand new 86' IROC when I was 15 and have been a 3rd gen guy ever since. The "birth certificate for my 91' Z28 says "1570 for sale in Canada, 403 with G92, 134 with 1LE & 97 with R7U". No 720 with Z28 on my sheet for some reason but nice to know. My car is just like this but red. It's an R7U Players car I bought 31 years ago after it came out of the series. Ken Wilden raced it, it was the #17 Proctor&Gamble Tide/Bounce car.

Yeah, NEVER let anyone else shut your hatch! They will almost always slam it, and the gearbox for the “pull-down” is made of fairy brittle plastic (as are the gears). It’s not cheap to rebuild it, or very much fun to do. It’s a greasy mess, in fact. BTW, not sure what other colors were available on the ‘91-‘92 Z-28, but I know the Teal color is a “wheels-matching” color. My neighbor had one, some years ago.

I’m a 3rdgen nut myself. I currently own 4 including a 1989 Turbo Trans Am, 1986 IROC-Z 51U (Yellow) color code, T-top. 1989 GTA (Pro-Tour, LS swap, Caged street/race car) , and recently picked up an IROC-Z that apparently was supposed to be re-painted because of a lawsuit filed against GM by Honda. It may be the rarest color of all.(More research is needed on this one!). I’ve owned my ’86 since 1991. Still only has 58,000 miles. They are still my favorite car, even after all these years! It’s great to see people still enjoying them!

The TPI engine sounds way better than the junk LS engine GM sadly came out with.

Ha! When this generation was launched I was driving a 1972 MGB. A friend of mine bought an 1984bCamaro Z28. I fell in love with it. Both of you have beautiful Cars!

I miss my 91 RS

I had a 1990 IROC Z 305 5.0 the exact same color with T-Tops Crimson Red interior with IROC wheels. I replaced the the stock with a Larger Throttle body and Hooker headers and K&N air filters. The car was pushing 300HP & 336 LB TQ. I bought the car in 1992 and ended up selling it in 2000. I wish I never sold it. A year later I bought a 1988 IROC Z 350 5.7 code 23 Bright Blue with gray interior. Sold that one in 2006 Hindsight is 20/20 wish I would've kept that one too. Now I'm looking for another one.

This truly is my favorite body style camaro. The 3rd gen. I was the 3rd owner of a 1980 (2nd gen) Z28. It was white with the blue decals. Dark blue and navy interior. Such a good looking car, but if I can still afford a 2nd gen, then that's what I'll do. I sold my '80 Z unfortunately. I was under the hood almost as much as behind the wheel, and it didn't make sense to keep it. I was in my early 20's and didn't know as much about working on cars as I do now.

This really makes me miss my 89 5.7TPI IROC and my 87 TA.

I'm a Ford guy I own 2 Lightnings white 94 and 2000 love both of them but I did own a 92 Camero Blue 305 and I would buy one again in a minute if I could find one like that and white my favorite color it sure brings back memories for me too !!! 😊 😊

Did you need to install a special flasher for the turn signals? I went through that with a Camaro I converted to LED.
