Installing a $40 Turbo Kit on my friend’s 370Z
Thank you for tuning into another one! We did a lot in this video, it was a journey to get Ben’s Z to where it is now but it is done and running solid!
For those of you that want the specifics of the turbo kit and other stuff we installed, here it is:
- Gonzevo Top Mount kit with a Comp 6871 air cooled turbo
- Track Spec vents
- EPS Gallery Gasket kit
- OEM Nissan RTV

I bought mine in December when Z1 was having their Christmas sale, paid $6723 for my tuner kit.
Saving up for this as we speak. God I can't wait to put folks to shame on the straights.

hi, is the 370z nismo engine stonger than a regular 370z ?
It is the same motor found in all 370Z’s
May I ask you my friend, can you beat those new pesky audi TTS? The new BMW Supras with bolt ons? And the New current nismo Z with bolt ons?? I want you to smoke them real bad.
I have raced a bolt on Supra and a new Z, beat them both. I think I would have a hard time beating a TTRS though, I plan to turn up the boost soon though! Might have a better chance

I was not, I only had exhaust and intakes. Since I knew my end goal was boost, I didn’t bother to spend too much on NA mods

How many hours would you say your same setup is? I’m trying to ask a friend who does work if he can do the install. Remote tune by z1? I have an AT but not an issue for the low torque.
With 3 friends helping it took us about 15 hours hours or so. Pretty much worked two full days on it. I am remote tuned by AdminTuning

Did you relocate the harness where the turbo and charge pipe sit? Where did you move it, just to the side?
Yes it has to be relocated, we just hid it under the plastics on the windshield. There is enough room to hide it in there.
Nice Nismo, I have a black 2018 model. Too scared to fit any boost kits tbh. I have enough trouble trying to find a stretch of road here in the UK, clear enough to use all of the standard power. 🤔 I have resonated short tails which are about as loud as you can get away with. 👍🏻

No I didn’t, the intercooler interfered with it
How much was everything?
For everything, it ended up being around 3k I believe. Injectors, fuel pump, tune, hood vents, exhaust work, gauges, etc. Would have been way more if we hadn’t done the labor ourselves.

Did you have to get it tuned? I saw in the kit on the website you can get a tune with it. How was it if you went that route?
Yes, you’ll need a tune. When you buy the kit, you can buy a tune from Z1 but I opted to tune with a different tuner so I didn’t choose their tune package. If you go with a different tuner that isn’t local like in my case, you pretty much just need to reach out for a base map once the install is done and then proceed with the tuning process after you’ve verified you have no issues with the install.

What gauges are you using?
Currently running a boost, oil pressure, and AFR gauge from GlowShift. I will be switching to AEM gauges soon though.

Why did you switch from turbo smart to tial q bov?
I just wanted to see how it sounded compared to the Turbosmart BOV.
Not useful since you practically skipped the install.
Going step by step just isn’t realistic, video would be hours long. Z1 has a very detailed instruction manual that is 60+ pages long.
single exit looks so ugly, but sounds so good
I think the single exits look better on the V1 rear bumper, yeah I am more of a fan of the dual exit look

Your setup sounds really good ngl. Im also supercharged and have the motordyne art pipes and motordyne catback and it sounds incredible, and under 3k rpm it sounds tame and I can actually have a convo with people in the car lolll.
