As someone returning I find this video very difficult to follow, doesn't feel like the easy way, but maybe im missing something :/ I'm guessing this guide (and the required one before it) is only good for brand new players. I have full exotic, I have also finished EOTD, but I can't seem to do much of what you suggest in this video at the beginning, finding it frustrating.

I came back to WoW after a 4 year absence as a casual player and I do not think the expansion is casual friendly.

you can now buy 1 ascended weapon and three ascended armor pieces from the wizards vault each season, i used that to gear up

There’s something funny about suggesting doing raids, what I considered to be the hardest content of anything in Guild Wars 2, in order to get the gear so you’re more survivable and can hit harder, which would really help you out in those raids 😅

I want to love guild wars but its "progression" system being how it is makes it so hard to care. I remember playing for 500 hours and i had the same gear. The best part was the group world content, not the dungeons or raids. I hated all of that, every bit of it but the open world was the only fun part. But even there, i put that many hours in and i dont remember any actual meaningful upgrades. I got 100000 currencies and zero satisfaction for any of it. WOW sucks today, hardbody but atleast upgrades and loot feels like loot and upgrades.

I'm Very late to the party but I wanted to say Ty for this easy to follow guide for 'What to do at lvl 80.' As a New player, I found this very helpful and it gave me a clearer roadmap for being a New 80 > Mid/late > Endgame. Great video and makes me want to get back into it after 15yrs! But don’t have as much time anymore so would only play casually, mainly to experience the lore and maybe a few normal dgns and raid. Great to hear that it seems to work as a casual player

fuuuuck offffff. that is not fast, that is like 4 weeks worth of grinding.

Every time I come back to this game and try to play it seems ANET keeps adding more steps to obtain get one piece of ascended gear and I end up just stop playing..grinding for days and weeks is not enjoyable at all and ruins the game play for myself..and the fact that you must buy 75% of the living world seasons which also another reason most players quite..and the Raids-PvP-WvW-Fractals is the most toxic community I have ever seen on a game..

I have gw2 on steam but logged into my Original account from back in the day before steam. So if i now want to buy the latest expac do i need to buy it on steam or the website? And if i have POF and HOt but not EOD and SOTO will i still be able to get endgame gear and the best asended gear smply having the first 2 expacs

Tyyyy SO much for this video. - I'm a Guild Wars 2 veteran (since launch and even as far back as playing GW1), and got into FFXIV about 7 months ago now. Adore both these games - Don't give a single shit about mechanics or min-maxing or whatever - Only care about story, aesthetic/appearance, and RP (just with my own character in the world, like having a headcanon. Not group RP). - Loved ARR in FFXIV and I do EVERY sidequest. Apparently, ARR is infamously considered 'slow' and/or 'mostly boring' or at the very best 'not the good stuff', but I adored it. And I don't care if I should 'only do the blue and main quests' and it's 'inefficient' to do every sidequest, I like to because that's fun for me. Plus clicking every npc for their tiny extra dialogue that no one ever sees but effort is put into anyways. AKA I include this point as I seem to be easily entertained/pleased. - I last played WoW over 10 years ago (played since it's inception before that). Don't really remember why I quit. I can't re-access that account (used to be shared with my sibling and I, it became all her basically after I lost interest). TLDR, I'd have to start completely anew. Dragonflight has gotten me interested in playing again, just for the character creator alone. I'd also love to revisit some starting zones like the Worgen, Demonhunters, Pandarians, and Goblins, even if I didn't level any such characters further beyond their initial leveling zones. But I just... COULDN'T for the LIFE of me tell if the cost would be worth it, especially as a GW2 veteran who LOATHES sub fees (yet ffxiv cracked me on that one obviously). Soooo many opinions about WoW are negative in one form or another, and often deeply so. Many are also into gearing and raiding and mechanics and whatever. Lots of their criticisms are about things/systems/aspects in WoW I could care less about. aka I'm super grateful for this vid. I think I will get it, even if I don't play for long. I'm the type of player who enjoys finding a nice tree or cliff in game and just sitting enjoying the view and music.

I think i f'd up, i started yesterday and bought a dlc pack to unlock the full account, but chose to boost to lvl 80 and now i dont have a clue (even more so than before) about what to do/what im doing/what anything means😂

Half way through and im like wellp... Not happening soon. Just sticking with tp exotics

That is exactly why people stop playing this game. Simplest things like getting gear is 10 time more complex that it should be with zero guidance how to do it.

There's no item level in a moba. But there's absolutely a vertical power level and in the case of lol there is AP/AD which could serve as an item level of sorts. Tough comparison there.

honestly best expansion since MISTS over a decade ago, Its actually a bit better than MISTS tbh which likely puts it in WoTLKs direct shadow.

You get the raptor permanently at lvl 10 if you have any dlc now

As an MMO veteran who really doesnt care for leveling and the story and focuses mostly on pvp and end game content I was personally convinced to boost my first toon to 80 because I didnt wanr go through the grind (and for me it is a grind) of attaining 1 skill at a time and slowly progressing to then encounter a whole new world at 80 anyways. Reddit and CZcams were quick to tell me I made a mistake instead of actually helping me with a choice I wasnt going to change, and then I saw this. THANK YOU

I left wow around Legion and have been thinking about coming back. I like all the mounts of Retail Wow (and used to have a good collection). I dont PVP and am also thinking about Classic WoW. Thoughts on Retail vs Classic?

If you show up to verdant brink at reset +5 monday, wednesday, or sunday night on NA, there will be an organized group running the meta. You can also get stat-selectable exotic gear for cheap if you run a tiny amount of WvW from the vendor TIED-07 Unified Vendor System. This vendor didn't exist when this video was made, and I would argue its far and away the easiest way after being rich.

Im a veteran casual, haven't played in 3 years or so. I'm 64 right now having the same experience you talk about. Comfy, casual, vibing, no pressure. I love it.
