You can open the tailgate whilst not being in the car, you just have to move it away from the respawn spot, it closed cos your truck respawned I think

Late ik, but anyone who is late as well what he missed I think 1. The moving truck opens for as long as you need it if you pull away from its spawn point like drive It away 2. The chips texture, I believe is smoother that's all ik.
