Just look at the existing photos, videos in some (old) books about Ph(history) as well as the latest one, and you'll have an idea about our clothing. I cannot imagine a person belonging to a kaDATUan/Ginoo class can't afford a decent and presentable sets of clothings for many decades. Even the Timawa class surely has some middle class level of clothings. I'm not anti-Filipino clothings but the terno sucks for me compared to camisa de or a T'boli outfit

Let me tell you, if people put phillipines as pacific islander , then it should be apply the same for its neighbours like Malaysians and Indonesians. But we all knew we are not pacific islanders, people solely press on it because of bunch of filipinos kidos in America intend to differentiate themselves from so called "Asian=chinese looking" by the western communities. They do it to appeal as unique as possible perhaps, rather to not be put under the same branch like those "Asian= Chinese"🥱 I made my stand. I am Malaysian. We should be together and be proud as an Asian of our own part, Maritime Southeast Asian. We shared a lot of commonalities in cultures, languages, and even genetics. Damn even we even shared some of our ethnicities, like Moro ethnicities of the south also presence in the Borneo Part of Malaysia.

Can someone explain why you can't say Filipinos are both Asian AND Pacific Islanders? Why are people acting like the terms are mutually exclusive, especially in a very ethnically mixed place like the Philippines? If you go by actual archeological and genetic evidence, Filipinos have a mix of Austronesian AND Melanesian ancestors.

I died with the Ophir/Maharlika thing! Man, it gets old!! The ONE good thing that came out of colonialism is quality education. People like you are very important because this is a Golden Age for the Filipinos. And as a western Filipino American, our cultures, gastronomy, and lands are being noticed and the Filipino identity is progressing at an unprecedented rate!
