So ive just been looking at TLE thinking thats what i had and feeling relieved that i had some anwers but then i saw Dr Danoun here and realise this is where i should be. My PNSEwas brought on after my 2nd Vacine. Ove lived with this gor 4 years now with absolutely no help or explanation from NZ drs but has certainly received the ridicule from hospital Drs and neurologists. I have been told it is because of PTSD due to past traumatic stress...i thought they were pulling my leg because of the lack of info. I went through rape as well as other physical traumas so that explains that side of it.... But because of the lack of care and information the last 4 years has been debilitating to say the least. I have lost everything and i mean everything because of this, including family members because its too hard to handle. I live on my own and deal with my seizures by myself and it saddens me even more to know there is nothing that can be done... This has brought on suicidal thoughts for me, and i cry why i write this but im so tired of living with this disorder and i dont want to live eith it any more. Theres no help in NZ. They put me under the ctisis team and labelled me crazy.. Im so over it

My idiot drs in NZ refuse to even recognise my seizures or more they dont want to because they started after my 2nd Vacine... The neurologist didnt even turn up for my first 2 appointments...when he finally turned up for the 3rd booking he said i had functional seizures due to PTSD....???? That was it..no tests no nothing... Im 57 and for 4 years been having these seizures.... All ive been offered is Lorazepam...a medication that is going to dumb my whole body down....or codein????? The NZ medical system has ridiculed me for the entire 4 years and still to this day i have no help... Ive lost everything due to my sezisures..my home, job, car, friends, family and i sit alone day after day dealing with my seizures alone.....

And thought I was having focal seizures because my dad said it wasn’t an anxiety attack, but I remember the very FaceTime I had an episode was when I was standing in line in middle school to register for my classes. No, I have a brain disease I was born with, and I remember standing in the line and all of a sudden, my ride I couldn’t see clearly I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t hardly open my mouth. I started feeling like I wanted to gag. I kept smacking my lips because a lot of saliva started accumulating in my mouth and I wasn’t able to speak clearly and the right side of my body started to shake a lot, I remember one time I was at my grandmother house and I had just came in from playing outside with my cousins. I was totally fine and then this episode came on and it was pretty bad. I was trying to get to the fridge raider to see if I could get me something to drink to start what was going on, but I ended up hitting my head and I had a cut on my headfor a couple years then all of a sudden they start back up recently. I had four in one day.

I've had epilepsy for about 9-10 years now. Over the last year or two, my memory is all bad. I can't remember a lot of things for a long time, the passed year or so has been really bad, I can't remember recent or past memories.. I'm taking medication for the epilepsy but still I've only been told I have refractory epilepsy.

hi Dr. Oman, I'M Currently diagnosed PNES (psychological non-epileptic seizure) my previous medication and previous diagnosed to me was like "simple epilepsy" and VALPROIC ACID, ESCITALOPRAM medications,, and I observed that the long I maintained the medicine , the seizure gone worse with panic and anxiety feeling everyday and affects my daily performance in my school that caused to stop my learning. then after six months they proceed me to many test (blood tests, CT-SCAN, EEG, MRI,) but they seem no differences in my brain and its activity,,,so they conclude that I have PNES because every time I feel anxious then after a minutes I got seizure, the seizure is i can feeel it when will occur ,,, so they maintained me 3 medicines (VALPROIC ACID, ESCITALOPRAM AND CLONAZEPAM) THEN another 6 months of maintaining, no improvements, make me worse like i almost always lying in bed because of its side effects,,, so I planned to withdraw the valproic and the escitalopram succesfully but I cant withdraw the CLONAZEPAM easily because of its tolerancy of my body 's response,,, my only dream is to stop my benzodiazepine and now recent DIAGNOSE TO ME IS "PNES WITH generalized anxiety disorder , panic disorder) I have thoughts that this my GAD developed because everytime I feeel im gonna to seizure, after the siezure it leaves me a "trauma" so everytime I go walk out , my anxiety is increase because I might get siezure whiile walking ,,, I visit many many guidelines how to withdraw the clonazepam in website but I cant get throu, then also I cant afford to make consultation to neurologist and Psychiatrist,,,

I started having Grand Mal seizures in my early 20's and the doctors could not determine what was causing them. I even ended up having brain surgery to remove a large cyst they had found on my temporal lobe, however, the seizures returned shortly after the surgery. Now I was in complete desperation mode, losing hope and tired of feeling like a zombie with all the sedative drugs I was being prescribed. I then realized that God was the only one who could help me and after praying for about 8 months or so, his answer came to me at a 711 convenience store early in morning. I had purchased a coffee and added a non-dairy creamer to it and after only a couple of sips it started to give me my usual pre-seizure warning signal, which was a weird deja vu feeling. I then realized that it had to be something in that creamer since coffee itself had never given me any problems. It was the preservatives in the creamer(since it was non-dairy it required something to preserve it). So, long story short, I no longer eat anything with food preservatives, take no medication of any kind and 30 years later I am still seizure free! I thank God every day for giving me this insight because when I told my medical doctors about my discovery all of them ridiculed me and said that the acids in my stomach would destroy the preservatives. This was apparently not the case and later through my research on food preservatives I also found out that most of them are even carcinogenic. I hope this can possibly help at least one person out there as I know the horrible situation it is to have seizures.

I have been having seizures since age 20. They used to be sporadic. But since 2017 - now they have been more frequent and seem to be getting worse. I've never had any clear answers. Now that I am having the multiple times a year I'm doing all I can to fully understand seizures. My neurologist and I are starting to believe this is what I have. Thank you for your informative teaching. 11:54

I have these all the time, more frequently when upset. Generally there's a wall, furniture, car or a human in the way. I just ask to help me up, & most of the time I carry on like nothing happened, & sonetimes it takes a minute. My fear in fall on something sharp, or into traffic. Only twice have I falled sideways whilst sitting. A couple months ago, I fell out of my RV - that hurt. I am 67 & have suffered with these for at least 20 years. My resilance is wearing thin. I generally fall to the left.

I have been having these types of convulsive seizures since March 2022 sometimes with a Hemiplegic migraine and sometimes without. I've been through several different Specialists, had many tests performed along with video EEG and was finally given a diagnosis of Functional Neurological disorder in March this year. Along with that I've now been diagnosed as having functional seizures and have been referred to a Special functional seizures clinic for treatment of this extremely debilitating condition. I have a wonderful Neurologist and Headache Specialist who are helping me to take back control of my life. I value these videos so thank you for sharing them. I will also point out that I have Patent Foramen Ovale detected in March this year in association with the migraines and have had CPR performed 4 times from stopping breathing during these types of convulsive seizures.

Hello, when my 2nd child did the EEG it was normal. But before her birthday she had her shaking episodes. Why? My daughter is now 21 months old. She was diagnosed with focal epilepsy when she was 4-5 months old. And the result of her 1st EEG was abnormal brain activity on the left side of her brain. In August 2023 she had her 2nd EEG, which came normal. She had seizures in the month of Aug. Then in September none, then October she had 2 episodes. Before she had 2 medications, the phenobarbital and Leviteracetam. But now her doctor just prescribed the Leviteracetam. From October 31 until today, she doesn't have any episodes 🙏🙏🙏 and hoping for a good news when we do her 3rd EEG on Nov. Or Dec. Thank you 🙏
