      Hi Alex It was a curved edging, but was about 7 metres in total. I used three tubs of the mortar and only managed about 4 metres with that so I bought the bagged variety of the same make and this did the rest with plenty left over to do the other border this coming Autumn. So the bagged variety would be best if doing a larger area. Hope that helps 😊🪴💚

    Agapanthus grows like a weed in New Zealand. I believe it is regarded as such in some areas and not sold in garden shops. I think it is quite beautiful growing alongside paddocks and down the hillsides but not everyone shares that view.I have a miniature variety in my garden in the Manawatu and it flowers profusely all summer. However there is also one larger plant growing in a shadier area which only ever produces one white flower every year so I think that it lacks enough light.Your plants might need feeding. I would look to the RHS advice on growing the plants in the UK. Enjoyed the video very much but don't think the sweet peas will bloom well in that shady place.

    Agapanthus need their roots to be tight and contained for flowering. No more than a finger space between the roots and the pots. You can either sink the pots in the ground or some people bury large stones and broken slabs to restrict the roots. Your garden is looking beautiful x

    • @SundaysInTheGarden
      @SundaysInTheGarden Před 27 dny

      Hi Sharon We are sooo lucky that the comfrey was growing along the side of our veg garden when we moved in, obviously planted by the previous owner. It comes back every year and spreads further too 🎊 Apparently, Comfrey can be grown from seed, but it requires a winter chilling period to germinate and it’s also not unusual to sow the seeds and not see any germination for two years. So it's more common to propagate the plant from root cuttings. I expect you can buy it from plant centres and nurseries etc too xx

    Wow. So many different styles of garden. The cutting garden didn’t inspire me as much as I thought it would. I loved the woodland garden. Even the boys seems to love that one too. Thank you for taking us on a tour ❤️

      @@TheFarmyardGarden yes! I agree with you re: the cutting garden. I was expecting there to be a lot more flowers on display, including all of the staples like dahlias and cornflowers etc 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think they are missing a trick there! The woodland garden is magical 🥰 as is the cottage garden 😍🪴🌸 and the allotment is thriving!

      @@SundaysInTheGarden it would be hard to pick out of the others, to be fair, as not really comparable. I agree the cottage garden was so pleasing though. I love the gentleness of that style of garden.

    How beautiful all these gardens look in the summer season with so many beautiful flowers and plants. It is too difficult to choose a favourite! It is a lovely place to visit and the café/restaurant and shop are the perfect way to finish off a visit. ❤

      I know! I like any that have lots of roses so the rose garden and cottage gardens are favourites, along with the woodland garden 😍 brilliant place to visit in every season! 🪴🌸🥰

      Thank you 🥰 I’m hoping to add another raised bed at the front section and will probably just keep the back section for a hide away for the boys (and a table and chairs too!). Yes, I will continue working on it over next few weeks, but need to leave some until the blackberries have finished and will then cut it all back down to start again 😊🪴💚
