Milling with a Hafco SCT-155 - Compound/Cross-Slide table and a Herless drill.
zhlédnutí 702Před 5 lety
Milling with a Hafco SCT-155 - Compound/Cross-Slide table bolted to a 20 year old Herless Pillar Drill (bench drill). A Dawn Drill Press Vice is bolted to the table. All in all a pretty crappy set-up. The weakest point being the drill. I have always been disappointed with it but it has done a lot of work for me over the last 20 years, I think it was also sold as Rexon. Note the condition of it,...

This video was shot while driving through the Australian bush about 40 to 50 kms north of Melbourne Australia, while listening to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) 774 Melbourne on the car radio. A taste of Australia, I hope you enjoy
hahahahah i moved my 450 lbs Joinville 117r lathe (brazilian south bend) all by myself without any tools, well i ve smashed my thumb and break my finger!! lessons learned!
we are supplier. for the smt. splice tape. f or the machine
Why get rid of it?
Those engine hoists are super annoying - the legs are always too high above the floor to get under things, and the legs are also simultaneously too far apart and too close together. It's like they're designed to be completely useless no matter what the situation is
they perfectly fine for what they designed for..
@@Migman2020 Even that's debatable - I've used an engine hoist to pull cast iron heads off of and back onto a diesel engine - the legs were running into the tires to get to the heads on either side with the lifting arm in the middle. It was still a total PIA, though better than lifting the heads by hand.
Whoa! Dealing with the CG like champs!!
I'm planing on moving mine without the stand under it. That much weight up that high concerns me.....
What are those moving dollies rated to.......?
450kg each
Does U-Haul know what you did to their truck! Lol
Moved mine by taking down to parts and reassembing..got to assess any worn parts and check play
Thanks for the video! I was able to move my 13x40 enco this way after seeing you do it.
Are the increments on the vise in inches or mm?
Moving lathes, or any heavy equipment is both nerve racking and terrifying! Good job!
I am buying this machine in 2022.. hope i can make it work haha
Is that on slow motion ?
No, actual speed of the machine. Video was filmed10 years ago. The Juki machine is ~25years old.
is SCT-155 compound table good ?
The compound table is good when compared to what else is available for mounting on a drill press. I paid around $200 when I purchased it, the only other offerings I could find at that time were these cheap black compound tables sold at many cheap tool suppliers around Melbourne. These things were total pieces of junk and not worth 20 cents. That being said, I like having it, use it daily and would not be without it. I bolted it to my drill press that day I got it home and it has never been taken off it. It WILL NOT turn your drill press into a milling machine, but it is perfect for more accurate work when drilling holes. My drill press is the weak link, not the compound table.
Thanks for the vid! Might get me one of these. would further my knife making immensely I think. Looks like a stable piece of equipment to mount on a press
God damn feeders and MTC 😅
