i am trying to burn some videos to a dvd-r - they all burn to the dvd-r disk but, when done, the disk only plays on my laptop and not my dvd player...what am i doing wrong please ???

The VLC method didn't work for me. Took over a hour and when file was played back it was garbled beyond any use.

For unencrypted DVD, VLC and Handbrake are highly recommended. Well, for those for are seeking for zero quality loss during DVD to AVI conversion, DumboFab DVD Ripper is a better choice. DumboFab DVD Ripper does exactly what it says it does. And it's very nice and easily to use, So far I have used it rip about 150 dvds without any issues. Most of the rips have been the high quality ipad setting. I have mostly been ripping them to put into a Plex media server.

I would really think twice. Their so called reviews from users on their website are questionable. First grammar on all ones claiming to be from U.S. sound typical mistakes made by foreign/non native English speaking . Plus names, one shows pic of man, but woman's name. Another seems to have last and first name switched. Plus the actual things they say sounds more like talking points made by a marketing dept not a review.

It doesn't let you edit the video though... The options (for editing) are there to change the screen size (through input & output options), however, regardless of what changes you make to the size of the video screen, the end result will be the same as the original.

Not free. I have a BluRay ripper I downloaded free already anyway from getintopc. I just need to figure out how to convert those ripped ISOs into MKV. The Blu-ray literally takes up forty gigabytes per movie on a hard drive. That is just excessive and unnecessary. New video games don't even take up that much space. Ive been accessing the Public Library's library of movies and ripping them to a library on my hard drive.

The problem wit VideoByte BD-DVD ripper is they do not respond to tech support requests. I have sent in 4 requests because my registration code keeps saying "invalid." Out of the 4 requests I have received no response.

Does it install a blu-ray driver? Windows has nerfed this one since I'm guessing 2017 to 2019. My blu-ray burner is now seen as a dvd burner with the driver being cdrom.sys.

This software does NOT provide speed up option (if it does, please reply here); I cannot play with a 2x speed to skim the unimportant part of my Blu-ray movie disc. Sad!
