Woah you managed to condense all the various sprawling conversations about the state of the industry into 12 minutes, that's impressive! I think a large part of the gulf in quality, despite AAA studios having the resource advantage, is that indie game devs don't have to worry about a small army of executives and shareholders breathing down their necks and forcing them to turn their creations into market-optimised-profit-extractors. They can just focus on bringing their vision to life and bringing value _to_ the players - as opposed to desperately squeezing value _out_ of the players. Great video! I personally already knew a lot of the information but it's a great resource for people who haven't been following this topic closely for as long as we have lol
