He forgot NM
how does cm and fm work then? as soon as your fide hits the rating requirement you just get the title and thats it?
what are the ratings based on again? (I didn't hear in video) I'm either 967, 1326, or 1734 depending on the platform...
Fide
@@ixmchvhxb78yearsago22 i don't know my fide bruh
OH THATS ME WHO SAID THAT WWW
U deserve more subs
Thanks!
I understand that I'm not on the highest rung of the chess ladder at 1300 but I feel pretty slighted at the suggestion I don't castle often lmao
@@goodmonson9903 Sorry about that! it's always difficult to apply labels to such a densely populated category. I guess it also depends on whether your rating is online, FIDE and where you live (India, Russia are good examples of places where chess is more competitive).
@@RespectfulDave you're good lol, maybe the truth of it is that I don't castle enough and I'm too bad to know it, i'll update you when I'm 2000 :)
me chilling at 11th place
Your content is meaningful and useful for chess players. Thanks for great content! I am one of those who 'liked' your videos (I am 8th to like to be precise). However, at times, you are too fast (for at least me). That could be your style but it is difficult for many of us whose mother tongue is not English. So, I request you to talk little bit slowly, if possible.
@@MilindGavkar thank you for taking the time to write a comment. I will work on pacing then!
pc
7:37 wrong, not male dominated. It appeals to males moreso than women due to the nature of chess. If you interact with women irl you know this
every game in existence is male dominated (except animal crossing and three in a row)
Bro forgot the "Magnus Carlsen" title💀
So MC as in main character
Mr. Joshua i am not saying you re wrong but in rapid or biltz you get enough time for think and play but still many beginner blunders and when a beginner plays bullet and lost there hearts broke and many left chess because they do not get enough time to think thats why many GM do not suggest bullet to beginner.
Hello person with 400 subs
There was a bit of slander there I love it lol
liked! loved!
I do think there is a place for bullet in improvement. It may be small but if you play it properly (and not to just flag) then I think it can greatly increase your awareness and speed when calculating. (And helps with quick and consistent pattern recognition)
lol doesn't castle very often is so random
Very informative video but some of the example bullets for different levels were ridiculous lol
"But then why do you use a chessboard? There is no point, just put the clock and push the clock and the first one who wins on time, he wins. There's no point to have a chessboard as it's not chess anyway" - GM Vladimir Kramnik on 1 minute bullet games
Im weak class d
I 100% agree. Classical OTB is even better to improve. I'm a 1700 rapid with 1600 Fide rating but I suck at bullet, I blunder all my pieces and play like a total beginner(I'm barely 1000 in bullet)
My friend GM Maurice Ashley said you should never trust a CM
Never
You are improving like crazy in two days we gain nearly 40 subs
Great content
I'm a 1200 and I would say your categorizing for 0-1000 and 1000-1400 and 1400-1600 and 1600-1800 is mostly incorrect. I'm pretty sure most people in these categories have done puzzles don't make illegal moves for the most part and know most standard openings and castle frequently, with the exception of 0-300s. I understand you were talking about FIDE rating but you should've gone deeper making categories for 0-300, 300-500, and 600-800, 800-1000. Nice video still keep it up
I think those players do sometimes make illegal moves, but the thing is since most people play online where it's impossible to make illegal moves you rarely see it happen, but even like 1600s sometimes make them.
On board some might make illegal moves. But yeah rating a player depending on how quickly they castle is kinda pointless
Really good video nice I thought you were 100k subscribed person but I saw you have little subs seems sad hope you do well in future
Your Sub count is getting closer to mines
Epic Content
Im 1300, know opening theory, understand tactics, have beaten a WCM before. I am not a beginner and no, i am not over performing. My rating hasnt moved in a while. Get your statements together. I also beat a 1800 in a tournament.
How does you beating a WCM or an 1800 invalidate anything in the video? Upsets happen quite frequently, especially at a not-so-high level
@@adifferentusername999 i do agree about the upsets but i dont think players my level are as braindead as the youtuber portraits them to be. I dont go to a tournament having zero plans about my game whatsoever. I dont give time and effort to the game but this is just simple stuff to do to reach such a rating. If it is that easy to be my level, than you would have to pull out a tyler1 and bruteforce your way through skill by literally not bothering to be a real chess player. No 1300 is bad enough to fail at spotting tactics at any given time nor have no opening preparation.
@@alb_gaming06it actually depends on the region a person from our school went to siberia and got his rating there which is 1900 fide while he plays at the level of 1400-1500. Btw 1400 is the min rating 1400=1000 now fide changed it because people were underrated. Look at the fide rating system change article
Yo bro I love your videos don’t stop the good work 👍
I,m a novice.

@@TheEpicK don't worry I'm glad people enjoy it!
Back when the lockdown started, I only knew how the chess pieces move which I learned when I was still a kid. I kinda wish I took chess seriously early in my life but it's too late now, my dream is to have a title and I don't really care which one it is.
It's never too late but you do have to put the work on it. Life is tough!
I absolutely loved your humor!! The video is very informative, thanks for that.
is online rating ok too?
No
No, you need FIDE rating to get a title.
There are also few exceptions where you can receive a title for coming in 1st-3rd in strong tournaments and also they are awarded at youth championships too. These don't require the rating or norms necessary for the title but occur much less frequently.
Is there a trans title ?🤷♂️
@@Metso-ateco Not sure if this was meant to be rhetorical or not but currently no. Also I don't see it happening since it would only just ostracize people.
