SOUTHSTARR ON THE F*KING TOP
This huckster on damage control.
Whatt A LIAR! On Interview He Said That he Never Ever Have Heard Of A Guy Southstar And He Doesn`t Know The Damn Kid, Now He Says He Knew Him From When Southstar Was 5 Years Old :D :D:D What A PATALIAR!
THIS IS SERIOUSLY SAD !!! ALL THE MONEY SHOULD GO TO SOUTHSTAR !
Well it's just a remixed version of Oliver's song
@@ReaperProducesno it's not, it's a entirely new song that just used some sampled lyrics from jerk lmao, the song still belongs to southstar, do you oliver defenders not know how sampling works?
@oess855 I don't get why everyone is upset about this in the first place, they both gave credits to each other and they're both getting paid. What's the point of arguing otherwise, this situation is 2 years old at this point lmfao
@@ReaperProduces Literally wrong, robin schulz gave zero credit to southstar after blatantly copying southstar's song, it's just stupid
didn’t he tell anthony padilla he had no idea who southstar was? and here he knew who he was since he was 5 years old? 🤔🤔🤔
Do you have any idea what a persona is
Clown
If somebody remixed your song without permission, and made a hit, it’s still your song. So he just remixed it right back with an even more famous artist. This shit happens all the time in the music industry. Half of your favorite songs were actually created by someone you don’t know and they got sampled.
But from what I'm hearing everywhere else it was WITH permission, NOT without.
Look, someone made a 'dance remix' of HIS song, but THEIR version blew up all over the world. Happens all the time in the music industry. That's all folks!
It's not a remix💀 southstar just sampled lyrics from the song "jerk", made an entirely new beat, new name, and new re-recorded vocals. Then comes robin schulz and copies southstar's song with the same beat, same name, same length, and everything. Oliver blatantly copied the whole song
@@oess855 - Your explanation is spot on. Robin & Oliver also made a lot of money off Southstars talent.
@@truthseeker2000 yeah they did, and they didn't have the decency to credit him.
Is that true cuz I was under the impression he got the money from each song
Even if its true. The fucking dude that's supposed to "remix" the already remix song should added something MORE. Stomping on someone's artistic take is a douchebag move and dude never said a damn thing and ruined the damn mixing its insulting.
Gets on a stage a lies to his fans 💯💯💯💯
Well he got his shit stolen so he did the same
Cap
Thats dope
should be resolved now czcams.com/video/CbvZYbLXXR0/video.html
Sound star didnt get any royalties he said it not long ago
I hope that’s true
Its not
Southstar is the Original!!
How when the song is originally based on an Oliver Tree song? Southstar remixed the Oliver Tree song Jerk, then Oliver's label remade the beat to the remix, and released that version as Oliver's. So basically if Oliver wouldn't have made Jerk Southstar wouldn't have had anything to remix in the first place.
@@donatellod.dabbins3609 the lyrics are from Oliver tree but southstar made that beat…and remixed the version that is all around the world
@@sickpicasso9563 again he wouldn't have anything to remix if Oliver wouldn't have made Jerk. Plus people knew the song Jerk before Southstar made his version. I'm not saying anything bad about either side, but Oliver is definitely the original here. He made the original song Southstar used to make his song.
@@donatellod.dabbins3609 Dude…the song who is going around the world and I mean „Miss You“ is made and created by southstar…Ist like when Kanye sampled and old song for „I Wonder“…He made that Song. No one cares about who is the sample…Kanye sampled it and made an entire track that’s going around the world. Southstar sampled Oliver Tree and made „Miss You“. And „miss you“ is going viral and not the „Jerk“ song. So Southstar is the creator of „Miss You“! Not Oliver Tree
@@sickpicasso9563 I get where you're coming from.
Cap.. this guy a thief/fraudster 🤡
Fucking freaks in the crowd acting crazy, even if what he says is true Southstar is no doubt getting litterally a penny on the dollar. Southstar is one of the most unique producers Ive heard in years I was blown away when I first heard his work before miss you hell never reach what this little clown has because hes not some weird goofball who appeals to the type of edgy kids who are at his crowd in this video but he'll go on to be an extremely well known producer who won't be the type to go on making shitty edm like Shulz either.
never forget, Oliver tree knows how to promote his music, however he has to. including creating fake beef that seems real
Its obviously not fake lol
I always liked Jerk and thought it was underrated when it dropped with Ugly Is Beautiful, I'm just happy the melody / vocal is getting the love it deserves, even if it's a remixed version.
Why is nobody talking about Jerk being made 2 years before Southstar's song anyway?
There's no question about the use of Jerk as a sample or as the basis of a remix. The controversy is how Oliver Tree and Robin Schulz took Southstar's version only changed the production of it slightly and released it as their own song without any credit to Southstar. This is my understanding of the situation.
If im remembering correctly, Southstar gained permission to use only the vocals from Jerk and then played it over his original track, after Southstar made miss you Oliver released it as his own song without any credit to Southstar, though correct me if I got anything wrong
You are such a liar and manipulator
A lying thief lol
I only listen to Southstar track because it sounds so much better. It was Robin who started to use Southstar version during his sets.
To each their own. Oliver's is better to me, but I like both. I'm from the 90s, born in 89. The Oliver version is better produced.
@@ReligionAndMaterialismDebunkedit is overproduced, there’s a diff. This reminds me of Billy Talent, their demo pre album release was near perfection, so they made a full length overproduced album and it sounded terrible. The vocals had inflections too high or annunciation too ridiculous, the music was too sharp and didn’t sound grunge like where they came from. It was just bad.
@@ReligionAndMaterialismDebunkedno it's not lmao, southstar's version (the original) is way better and has more personality
@@oess855the original song is jerk by Oliver tree.
@@Quaquadaqu no it's not, southstar sampled a few lyrics from the song jerk and completely re-recorded them. The song Miss you belongs to Southstar. Do you people not know how samples work💀
This got recommended to me
Same
This is a lame ass excuse. He really needs to come clean with this and explain the whole thing in detail. It just seems that Oliver and Schulz are scummy dickbags who ripped off a small artist. And thats a big no no in my book.
Yes lyrics are yours but you big timed him with that snake producer
Damn Oliver. Fucked me up on this one
Still an ass move
Okay so if what he's saying is true, then EVERYTHING was done intentionally, all the way down to the replica of the beat. Because it's a no brainer that they sound the same, because THAT'S where the money can come in at on BOTH ends, which is why Robin ain't saying shit cause he probably wants it to click in our heads that THIS is actually how it's suppose to be. So when you listen to Southstar, Oliver gets money off the vocals, and when you listen to Oliver, Southstar gets money off the beat, which is probably why it's so identical so he can get credit for it, Oliver gets credit for his vocals on the original, some might hear southstar, get blown away and travel to Miss you saying, oh they're so identical" and vice versa ASF because that's what everyone is doing, and that just gives them more money, BOTH of them. It's like ping pong and we're the ball, everytime they hit us, more money falls in their pocket.....THIS IS WHAT IM GETTING FROM WHAT HE SAID, but I'm open minded too and see people saying he's lying, so can someone show me how he's lying? Don't tell me, show me, send me a link of something.
first correct analysis i've seen in several months :)
Sounds like a logical explanation, except this isn't how royalties work. You can't simply remake a beat with Robin Schulz and somehow get Southstar paid as well. If Southstar were to get any money, Robin Schulz didn't have to remake the beat in the first place. Apparently it was more cost-effective to have Robin Schulz re-create the beat rather than having to pay royalties to Southstar as he didn't expect people to find out. Southstar himself hasn't seen a penny by the way. Southstar said the following: "We cleared the publishing rights with the three authors of ‘Jerk’, including Oliver Tree, allowing me to release my reworked version of ‘Jerk’ called ‘Miss You’. And contrary to some rumours circulating online, I never sold this rework or my production. (...) It is disappointing for me to see that an exact copy of my rework Miss You is up under the name of another famous producer and is even being perceived as the original version instead of mine." (Source: Independent UK, can't send links. Google it.) I'm very skeptical that Oliver even met the guy, let alone at 5 y/o (Southstar is a German producer from Berlin, Oliver Tree grew up in the USA). If he lies about trivial stuff like that, then there's no way in hell Southstar is getting paid. Being open-minded is good, but think critically as well.
@@rafael-c Oliver tree is just talking, and Southstars response is not sourced from him himself. I have no knowledge in the music industry, so I won't go down that path. On the surface, we should just enjoy the songs for what they are period, pick a side since they sound identical and stand by it. Getting beneath the surface, I want solid undeniable evidence/receipts. That is what I want, can't speak for anyone else. Oliver tree chattin and a source from the UK giving Southstars response, are not solid to me. I respect your entire response tho. I don't want to stay on this topic forever. The potential for this conversation to last a while is there and I don't want to be apart of it. (Not just us, between Southstars Oliver tree and Robin's fanbase).Personal opinion moment there, nothing important. For lack of knowledge tho, I'll back out. Have a good day.
@@chrisfahren Independent is a news source from the UK. I wish I could link it, but CZcams keeps removing my comment. Don't get me wrong, I like the works of Southstar, Robin and Oliver but I'm just very skeptical of Oliver's story for the aforementioned reasons. Thanks by the way, I also appreciate your response. At the end of the day, this song is a banger and I just hope Southstar gets a bit more recognition like Oliver and Robin did with their productions. You also have a good day. 👍
@@rafael-cI like the Oliver version better, but they're both great. :3

The truth is Oliver tree gets money when you listen to his and south stars, and south star gets nothing, so watch south stars
Nah I will watch oliver he da goat no cap
Nah. It is originally the song of Oliver, only remix it afterward by Southstar. So, why would i not listen to the real owner, i.e., Oliver Tree!?!?
Isnhe welcoming southstar on stage?
That one dude in the back 😂😂😂 "WHAT WHAT 😱 NO FCKING WAY😱"
It feels like Oliver is in a lose-lose situation with this Southstar-Robin Plagiarism drama. I hope he's doing his best to address it and doesn't get to anybody else's bad side
This makes me feel a sort of way about Oliver now. It sucks, it’s scummy. Why steal when you can make your own good music. It’s bazaar. Oliver has countless great original songs. Why spoil it all by lying and stealing? SMH
Thats a oliver song called jerk that southstar remixed
It's literally his own song. southstar remixed 'Jerk' by Oliver Tree and named it Miss you
1. Southstar remixed Oliver's song. 2. They literally said it isn't Oliver's fault.
@@manashgogoi6946 yea and South got permission to remix a while ago
In case you see this comment. Oliver went on Anthony Padillas channel recently for an interview and explained the whole thing. It wasn't ever Oliver or Southstar in the whole thing it was a battle between their two record labels.

So even worse? Are you stup1d? You are not defending him with that. They would’ve literally gotten nothing from that (the song was already successful) but death threats and losing fans (both Oliver and Robin did)
Just because he says it isn't true or what? What if he lies also?
I love how Oliver Tree fans just listen to his side, and disregard Southstar. If Papa Oliver tell them it’s fake they eat it up so easily.
Well because it is fake he showed us the receipts
Oliver time travelled back to 2020 in order to steal and make Jerk
So he literally lied to his entire audience for fame? Is that what you are saying because that is even worse and you are so shallow to defend that with that, just a braindead consumer zombie.
You could say the same about the Southstar fans. Fact is: we don't know and both can be lying about it.
