Should of put a 17t
Nice video, points to ponder are- 1. The K&N technical department when I questioned them directly said they did not claim engines make more power with their K&N air filters fitted, they then went on to emphasise the benefits of the filter being reusable on cost grounds. 2.Air filters are fitted to internal combustion engines to remove dust and grit that is suspended in or thrown into the induction airflow, K&N filters allow far more debris through than paper air filters, this debris then travels into the carb or throttle body and into the valves and combustion chambers, it causes wear. 3. If we are to believe that an air box or intake is restrictive then it’s restrictive effect would be most noticeable at wide open throttle, when the engine is demanding the most air, this points to the probability that at lesser throttle openings a standard filter and intake system provide more than enough air.
Where is the port???? What tool do i need to fix this????
You'll find the port under the seat. You'll need an OBDII scanner to clear codes. Many auto-part stores will have one, or you can get the PLX like I had from Amazon.
I have a t100…….. and yea, check engine lights all came on
This is probably going to sound like a strange question, but after installation, was there a significant difference in speed?
Not sure why people are taking the front sprocket cover off. Just add some mechanics wire onto the old chain, pull it through. If you ordered a 98 teeth DID 420 chain, no need to break it. It fits.
A Monkey bike has neither the power nor the torque to cope with higher gearing. Yes, it might theoretically have a higher top speed downhill with the wind behind it but in general, everyday use it will feel lethargic and need far more gear hanging than before. Don’t waste your time and money doing this.
Did the rear boys tighten ok? Did you have to bed anything?
I didn't have any issues tightening the rears. Definitely doesn't feel right trying to get them tight, but it seemed to go well enough.
Sorry. Rear bolts. 🤦🏻♂️and *bend. Not bed.
No useful information here but good effort.
Thanks! Good effort is usually what I strive for.
Quick question, why to replace it?
Part of the reason is for easier maintenance since the o-rings will prevent a lot of stuff getting into the links. Also different materials can allow for less overall stretch of the chain. It isn't anything that has to be done too early, especially on such a small bike.
@@UnknownOverLand thanks you awesome
Subscribed,,, your a normal dude taking on the challenges for us! Thank you for testing and showing how to put it all in!!! Love ya bro
Thank you, I'm glad you like the vids. Hopefully there's some useful info somewhere in them.
What stand do you use for the bike ??
It's just a generic motorcycle stand. I had installed spools to lift from but also the frame works with a lot of the lifts out there.
Are those dji v2 or dji v1? I have purchased the v2 set just waiting for them to arrive and will be using my rapidfire module with them too but i'm curious about something that few guys mention and is that once you lost signal from analog the goggles screen go black out and appear dji logo
I wish I could help, sadly I don't have any of that hardware anymore to check.
Can you please send me the parts details?
Sadly I don't think I have the complete details anymore.
What octane fuel do you use for this piston?
Along with my tune I ran whatever the highest octane was available around me. I had heard some also like to use some octane boost as they had seen a slight knock from the timing.
The ring is bigger when it's hott.
I can see your phone vibrating really badly, I see in another old video you were saying about the image stabilisation getting messed up on two phones, makes me think twice about getting a handlebar mount..
I made a video where I started really analyzing the vibrations especially comparing the monkey to bigger bikes and even a car mount. I think these newer phones have a harder time dealing with certain types of vibration and something like the monkey or a lot of single piston bikes is that those are going straight into the frame and handle bar. Ever since then I only use phone mounts that have some kind of vibration damper and that has seemed to help since.
Where are the mirrors from?
These were Triumph branded mirrors, I had picked them up from my local dealer.
Pretty unhappy with these, they worked with my 900 but not the 1200 xe. With the middle spacer, because I can’t get others to fit, no matter how much I tighten them they spin on the bar if I push them, don’t really seem designed for the bike, don’t waste your money
I never really had issues with them on the 1200xe, but I also did install a small spacer I had 3d printed which may have created just enough friction to keep things a bit tighter.
Even better with the volume turned right down! Why the sound of an angle grinder throughout the video?
I have a weird sense of humor especially with my musical tastes.
😂 my thoughts exactly
You should sell the little bracket for the boosterplug. I would be a buyer.
I'm surprisde there aren't any out there given how much nicer it makes the install.
@@UnknownOverLand We are perfectionists
Did you have to hone out the cylinder? I’ve got a grom I want to run this kit on but some people said I should hone the cylinder out cause the rings might not seat properly, mine only has 500 miles on it though.
To do a cylinder properly you really should hone it it out and make sure everything has a chance to properly run in together. I did not, mostly because honda engines have a tendency to live through anything and this bike was more of my toy bike. If you look into the cylinder and see a lot of carbon or scoring you'll have to decide.
The instructions from DHM say the top ring gap should be .007-.008, and the bottom ring should be .008-.009. I understand your logic behind the Wiseco recommendations and measuring the bore, but which would be the better route? Using the DHM provided recommendation, or measuring and using the chart?
Generally measuring your cylinder is the better option because there may be slight variances in how your piston was manufactured or worked in or anything. Because of how tough these engines are (and how good DHM is) you might find things to be pretty close to what they say.
Thanks tor the prompt response!! I really appreciated your video!
I just bought shocks from MNNTHBX the inexpensive ones and they are so much superior to the stock shocks that are not adjustable. Not spending $700 for shocks. Problem with those bushings there is no way to keep them lubricated.
For such a small and fun bike replacing the stock shocks makes a huge difference. And you’re right, you don’t need to spend a lot to get better than the stock shocks.
This literally happened to me yesterday when I swapped a replacement clutch lever didn’t take into account the tab on the oem lever for the clutch safety switch. I had to swap the oem lever with the tab to the replacement lever to fix the issue now I just need to clear the code as I got the same code P0704
I was so annoyed for a little bit when I thought I already broke the motorcycle!
I originally subbed for the Scrambler content. Great bike, but just too big for what I need. Then I traded it just the other day for a T100 and a set of heated grips. This video was a huge help on the install. Thanks!
That’s awesome, glad I could help. The scrambler really is a cool bike but it always just never felt right for me. The T100 and T120 are just fun bikes and hard to go wrong with.
I'm curious as to why you used both. DYK that 67 Designs is the original designer/manufacturer of these products and made in the USA (unlike the other ones)?
The only reason because of what was available when I made my order. Now I’m actually running the peak design phone case and holder and just before also tested the quad lock. So really, anything works.
I just ordered it just now but still think I did a mistake, I don’t plan to mods my monkey other then the rear suspension but just tough about running too lean without a tune , make me regret my decision now
I think you’ll be ok, make sure and reset the ECU and let the bike get used to the intake for the first few miles. If you plan on doing more mods you may start thinking about tuners.
Hire a real video professional (redo this entire thing). The shaky video, short clip segments, unnecessary shots and terrible music won't sell any products. If other people are like me, I came here to figure out what Goose Gear is actually selling (their website does a poor job of describing the product), but the video isn't much help either. Rather disappointing.
First of all, congratulations on your videos, and thanks for responding everyone. I just bought a Yoshimura rs3 for the Monkey, the sound is beautiful, but it's too loud. My question is if you can drive with the spark arrester without getting a headache, if you notice a difference. thank you so much
Thanks for the kind words. I wouldn't say the arrester is a huge change in the overall loudness, though I did prefer having it in most of the time.
hello, we are thinking of getting a roof rack and chief products seem to do the job. What size of water system did u install and what size of awning fit on yours. we wanted the 8ft room awning.
They make some great products, that rack was very stable. The water system I had was a Road Shower 4 (the 10 gallon version) which was a really nice system. The awning was an 8ft ARB awning.
Thank you! How and where did you mount the road shower 10 gallon?
I don’t remember exactly what I used, I mounted it along the passenger side (the rear door made it a little harder to mount on the back) and used some angle mounts to fasten to the Road Shower.
So the brake caliper doesnt come off like a normal bike
I think it's more a mini-bike kind of thing.
@@UnknownOverLand the front wheel doesnt have to come off to change the pads does it?
I don't believe it fully needs to but ensure that the piston doesn't get pushed out. The lower release pin I think will be where most of the trouble is getting the pads out.
Hi, are you just using the Rode RX without the TX connected to the camera in this set up?
Because the TX has built in memory and a mic hookup you can use those standalone and record if you don't have a place to put the RX. The better option is likely to hook the RX to a phone or a camera to also record the audio there if possible so that you have a backup in case.
@@UnknownOverLand ahhh I see. I thought you Bluetooth to it. Thanks for reply 👍🏻
What was the set up you were using to put the bike on the center stand to take the back tire off? What’s it called…where’d you get it at?
Those were the gcraft spools for the monkey (they replace the bolts on the lower shock mount) as well as a standard motorcycle stand.
how much oil do you put into the oil cooler including the 1qt crankcase? 1.2qts?
I'm not entirely sure, I never really measured. It did hold quite a bit on its own, though.
Are you going to wear that engine out essentially turning 3rd into top gear?
That might happen, though these little engines can take quite a beating. I figure someone’s got to try the dumb things.
unfortunately the linked handlebar is sold out. do you have another link? I love how you drive your monkey through the landscape in Colorado. Are you having a monkey again?
I don't really have another link, sorry about that. Finding the same diameter bars should be pretty easy and finding one that fits the kind of riding you like to do always makes the riding better.
Nice. What is the quad you using in this video.
I can’t remember now, it was one of those mini RTF racing quads that came with everything but was so much more fun with the DJI goggles.
Did you still like the bars ? After some miles
I definitely enjoyed those bars on the bike. It was surprisingly still comfortable while feeling a bit more sporty. Sadly I lost the bike in the fire, but if I were to build another one I'd go with the same bars.
@@UnknownOverLand thanks man and I’m sorry to hear about the fire
1 dollar watch. History
I have the arrow exhaust on my xe. Not sure yet on weather that was the right way to go but it is more responsive, just not sure if I like the way it sounds. Been looking at TECs 2 into one, really like the way it looks.
I had an arrow exhaust on my Street Triple R years ago and really liked it, but I know how those drone sounds can some times just get annoying. The TEC 2-into-1 looked and sounded like it'd be an awesome choice. De-Catting the bike was the best choice I made to finally relieve some of the heat by my leg.
This bike is sick.. Would u be up to sell it?
Not quite yet, still enjoying having it to goof around on!
@@UnknownOverLand No problem! If you ar ever up to selling It just LMK
Sick.... When can we get a review of the bike? I'm looking at buying the same one this weekend
I'm not sure when I'll get around to making a video, but the bike is a blast. It's not the fastest e-bike out there but tons of fun with the big tires on and off road and especially when you get into Mode 4.
@@UnknownOverLand cool the one thing at issue with me is my size and peddling it. Is it comfortable to do so?
Very nice. Thank you!
Thank you!
Very nice. Thank you. "You meet the nicest people on a Honda".
Definitely true.
Great video! I'm putting some grips and mirrors on my 2023 Bonneville T120 right now. This is very helpful.
That's awesome, changing those out was so nice as the weather started getting colder. And I can never leave the mirrors alone on any bike I've ever owned.
You want to sell one of your old intakes:) cheers man really enjoying your channel subbed.
Sadly I lost them all in the fire, or else I'd definitely part with them.
@@UnknownOverLand sir I didn’t like that or what ever the shit ya call it on yt. I’m so sorry duck fuck.. best wishes to you man I like your videos God bless
I came across your thread "Grover Build" on jeep garage and I was watching all your videos and then they just stopped. Sometime in 2021 as far as I could tell. I immediately thought "shit, covid got him." So I started searching youtube and found this, I'm glad you made it out. Hope you're doing well. I had stopped my overland build on my f150 around the same time due to lockdowns and loss of job, and then never got back to it. We just sold the truck this week and bought a WK2 summit. Hoping to get back into some light exploring and camping.
Thanks for checking in, we're doing better these days as we've been able to rebuild and start refiguring out what normal is. I picked up a Rubicon 4xe and we'll see if I start turning that into something for camping again or not. The WK2 summit is a fun vehicle.
How about a ebike dirt bike the moto tec is slow ten tooth 18 mph if i add 1 do you think it would go about 20 mph from 18 I know it ain't much but I'm just asking if anybody would know how much faster they think it would go give me of thoughts guys
Gear ratios work the same, but it'd be whether or not that motor could push enough to see any real benefit.
Which handlebar do u have on your Monkey and where do u bought it? Greetings from Germany
Thanks for checking it out! The bar is a ProTaper 7/8 KLX110 bar. I made a video about it over here: czcams.com/video/nYhfXlkunAA/video.html
