    How did you convert a single exhaust into a double like what you did

    Do you think the SLP Loudmouth Center/Center Shotgun Style Resonators - 2.5 in will fit on this mac exhaust in place of the mac mufflers that comes with it?

    • @EmperorJalapeno
      @EmperorJalapeno Před 6 lety

      Papermate19 the piping in the Mac duel conversion kit is 2.5 in and the slp resonators have an inlet and outlet of 2.5 so you can probably take a guess. Welding may be necessary

    True duels on a stock V-6 mustang can actually HURT performance. It's better to go with the conversion kit that uses the factory Y pipe because you want to maintain exhaust VELOCITY. Exhaust velocity is important, otherwise low end torque suffers, which a stock V-6 mustang does not have a lot of to begin with. True duels would be more beneficial if you had more mods, such as cam, intake, etc. More is not always better.

    Thanks so much for uploading this. It helped me a ton in deciding which set up to go with on my 2000 V6.

      it's an X pipe. starts as duals, goes to a single then directly back to duals

    I was considering this conversion kit but i wasnt sure if i wanted it because i really like the sound of flowmasters...but This video makes me want it now for my v6, its about $100 cheaper than the one from flowmaster!

    Hi I am thinking about getting this system for my 96. I see on the Mac site that it needs to hangers that are not in the kit, can you tell me where you got them at because they are no longer available at ford dealer

      If you but it off american muscle, you can add the hanger kit for about $60

    • @CpMBmH
      @CpMBmH Před 8 lety

      +Hugo I did everything myself! Simple install. Take off stock exhaust and everything bolts right on! It wasn't difficult, just time consuming! If you're a beginner mechanic, just ask someone who is decently knowledgeable and you should be plenty fine man!

    Customer comments on AM mostly say "sounds like a V8!"..... I'm glad that it DOESN'T! It IS, a really nice, low rumble, that makes the six sound MEAN - and in no way RICEY!! Too many sixer exhaust conversions (with X-pipe) sound raspy, higher pitched.... more like a Honda Accord or 300ZX! :O Thanks for sharing this. It's convinced me to buy it!! I also can't WAIT to hear her after I install a CAI AND a new Camshaft!!

    What other mods did you have on your car? Or was everything stock? I just got a v6 and want to get this and if it sounds like this stock, then I'm definitely ordering asap.

      Jose T. Sorry for the delayed reply buddy! Everything then was stock on the motor! Now I have a BBK Cold Air Intake and it's an awesome combo! Yeah, that's all stock! If you'd like I could add a new exhaust video and an overall video of my car!

    On a scale of 1-10 how much louder did it make ur car?

    • @satoriends-leaderoftitan2242
      @satoriends-leaderoftitan2242 Před 9 lety

      Well, Cold Start is a big difference. On your scale, maybe 7. Going down the road, a 5. It's more of a gurgle, raspy tone! Of course it's no V8 sound, but for your sixxer, it's really good. In terms of raspiness, up to 2500 RPMs it sounds really well.

  • @amandaclontz1301
    @amandaclontz1301 Před 9 lety

    I was wondering exactly how loud this is? My boyfriend has some type of exhaust and its to loud in my opinion. Seeing my mustang is a soft top I don't want it to be to loud.

    • @CpMBmH
      @CpMBmH Před 9 lety

      Well, consider it being a V6. It's not too loud, idle is on the lower side and from 2500+ RPMs it has a decent sound for being what it is. It's a deeper raspy sound. Definitely hear it from a distance. Won't be V8 distinct sound, but likable to a lot of people.

    Any performance gains out of this?

    • @Dangerwiggles
      @Dangerwiggles Před 9 lety

      Not out of this exhaust, the cat back is still restricted by the factor Y-pipe. There may be a miniscule gain.. like 2hp or something.

    • @monster19982355555
      @monster19982355555 Před 9 lety

      DVJFan you do gain some hp since you`re letting more air flow through without as much restriction

    • @TheBlazer1994
      @TheBlazer1994 Před 8 lety

      +DVJFan my 1996 mustang v6 has factory headers. So I'm sure you don't know your cars or ain't got a clue about mustangs

  • @jrsandres24
    @jrsandres24 Před 9 lety

    Hey! I am lookin to buy this too at AM! Whats the width of your rear wheels? B/c I have stock wheels now and now I want to know if it will rub on the exhaust? How's the sound in the cabin tho?

    • @Dangerwiggles
      @Dangerwiggles Před 9 lety

      (not the video uploader, just a reviewer of the product) Stock wheels should be fine with the exhaust because it goes up over the rear axel right inside the strut. There is an issue with tight clearance with this exhaust, and I had experienced a rattle of sorts from the drivers side pipe from where it contacts the strut. Tightening it up and wrestling with it for just the slightest of repositioning should fix an issue like that. As far as sound goes, inside the cabin on start up has the loud bass hum, you can't hear any of the throatiness of the exhaust up front. Once it settles into idle you can barely hear it inside. It's a very modest exhaust, nice sound, great for a v6, but honestly kind of disappointing. I have been trying to find the time to do an out of car and in-car review of the exhaust.

    • @CpMBmH
      @CpMBmH Před 9 lety

      Sorry for the late reply, I run 315s on the back and I've never experienced any type of rubbing! The sound inside is a comfortable sound, not too loud and not to quiet!

    • @Dangerwiggles
      @Dangerwiggles Před 9 lety

      DVJFan Usually a cost issue. True duals with installation can run $800-$1500. This system is good for about $400 with install. Personally I didn't want to spend twice to three times as much for an engine that isn't laying down enough power to need to breath like that anyway. If you did any major upgrades to the V6 I could see wanting trues, but just for essentially stock internals, the cat back dual is a good choice.
