Instructions for Mini Accordion Junk Journal: A Country Retreat
Materials Needed:
Chipboard or material of choice (for cover)
Decorative sheets from the kit
Cotton fabric for hinge (optional)
Crinkled seam bindings (optional)
Fabric trims (optional)
Floral appliqué (optional)
Lace trim for closure (optional)
Tags, pockets, tucks, journaling cards, and mini booklets from the kit
Adhesive
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Instructions:
***Prepare the Cover***
Cut the chipboard to 4 x 6 1/2 inches.
Mat the chipboard with decorative sheets from the kit.
Decorate the cover with floral appliqué (optional)
***Create the Accordion Pages***
Cut the pages from the kit to fit the cover size.
Fold each page accordion-style to create the desired number of panels.
Connect the pages by adhering them end-to-end with a strong adhesive.
***Attach the Pages to the Cover***
Cut a strip of cotton fabric to serve as a hinge.
Adhere one side of the fabric hinge to the inside back cover of the chipboard.
Adhere the other side of the fabric hinge to the first accordion page.
***Add Pockets, Tucks, and Tags***
Decorate the inside panels with pockets and tucks using adhesive.
Insert tags, journaling cards, and mini booklets into the pockets and tucks.
***Decorate the Tags and Pages***
Attach crinkled seam bindings to the tags.
Decorate the edges of the pages with fabric trims.
***Add Uplifting Words and Phrases***
Include words and phrases throughout the journal that convey tranquility, peace, calm, harmony, and love.
***Secure the Closure***
Attach the lace trim in pastel peach color to the cover for a beautiful closure.
***Final Touches***
Ensure all elements are securely attached.
Display the journal in a zigzag way to showcase each panel full of beautiful images and words.
***Enjoy Your Mini Accordion Junk Journal***
Use the blank backs of tags and journaling cards for personal notes and reflections.
Enjoy the serene and uplifting images and messages as you explore your journal.
