This is very best adaptation. And i love E. Wood.

I love how this movie makes Oliver smart enough to sneak into Mrs Bumble’s room to get the locket and food for the trip and then use Fagin’s rules against him in the climax. “Give me the locket or I peach.” I also like how the Artful Dodger is like an older brother to him.

I read the book it was really emotional.

Read the book when I was twelve. Saw the movie by David Lean, the best adaptation and truest to the book. However this one has Elijah Wood in it, and so it is my favorite.

I saw this particular adaptation of my favourite novel when I was eight-years-old. It aired in December 1997, I believe. Despite having read the original "Oliver Twist" at six years of age, I was slightly oblivious to the liberties taken by Disney at the time. As a young adult, I came to realise that I would have abhorred it for its choices. The closest version is the 1985 television series by Alexander Baron; however, Scott Funnell, an obscure English actor casted as young Oliver, was not used throughout. His personage's age was initially lowered to eight-years-old, then to 13. Actor Christian Rodskjaer, who played Fagin's associate Barney, acted alongside his son Benjamin in the titular role. Benjamin Rodskjaer was/is not only ugly, but lacks the refined accent Oliver is supposed to have. For me, Alan Bleasdale's 1999 production ever remains my favourite version.

If you're watching this because of an upcoming exam on Oliver Twist, go look for another movie. This version is so altered, it hardly resembles the original story. So far this is my least favorite.
