it's hard to say because it kicks in after the '25 season and that's the same time that the players' union can opt out of the CBA and negotiate a higher percentage than the alleged 10% of revenue that they get. NBA is 50% to players so it's such a wide gap there, that number could land anywhere from 20-25% all the way up to 50.

Thank you (I have cracked on Angel in some videos but I've kept it pretty even with the love and made sure to remind that you can have a healthy sports rivalry without crossing lines. It's just like Packers/Bears to me - makes the games funner and feel like they mean more but that's it. Once the game is over lets crack on our next opponent). The expansion teams can only sign one unrestricted FA each, so Golden St might snatch up multiple in 2026 but Toronto and (Philly/Portland? TBA) will be in their 1st year and can only sign one. I had Golden St in mind for sure when I said 2 or 3 FAs might go form a super team or two that season. Fever just need one though and Caitlin's passing, the team chemistry, on top of "19/20 top selling crowds - 9 Fever players in top 35 or whatever of All Star voting" , will have at least one smart agent/player looking that way. At least I believe so.

@@micdewitt lol I'm sure but I can tell you're fair I've cracked on Caitlin as well but it's when her racist fans cross the line. Then the gloves are off. Outside of that I keep it strickly basketball and facts. But as far as the Fever picking up free agents keep in mind it's nice to get names and I think you guys will because ppl will want to play with Caitlin. Maybe an Arike down the road but even if you don't get the names right away. The way you build around Caitlin is giving her the best transition team in the league. She's at her best in transition. It seems like her and Aliyah are on the same page now because earlier in the season I thought Aliyah needed to be traded but now if you build around Aliyah and Caitlin and get transition players who can hit 3's and play D then the fever will be one best teams in the league without big name free agents. Caitlin, Kelsey, Aliyah and upgrading at the 3 and 4 with really good transition 3 and D players will make the fever very dangerous. And obviously filling out the bench correctly. You guys could be the WNBA version of the 05 Suns.

it's all speculative until they announce exactly how they'll handle it, and they haven't. In the past the teams were allowed to protect 6-9 players from being selected in the expansion draft so it won't affect the stars or cores of teams much. They were only allowed to select one unrestricted free agent also, so at most it takes one off the board but they can't go get a big 3 in year 1 or anything like that.

Aces run Young, Plum, and Gray and NY paid Sloot and Sabrina a nice amount so it definitely happens, mainly because there's maybe 5 actual wings that are good so most teams either have to run 3 bigs or 3 guards at some point if not all game. Fever run that CC, Kelsey, Hull combo in the clutch, that's all 6 ft and under so depending on the guard's size and two-way play it could work. I want Sabally though, she's a scorer, playmaker, rebounder...she's everything.

I think so too, not because of lack of talent on Smith's part, just a better understanding of her role. She was probably the first to get it (playing with CC) to be honest.

I agree here that Smith is not a bad player, she's just a bad fit. I feel like defenisively you need to pair Boston with someone who has a lot of quickness and can cover a lot of ground or clog up passing lanes with their length. Someone like a Temi, or an Ezi Magbegor type player.

very frustrating. No update but she was presumably close to return before the break so hopefully when they get together and start practicing we see some video of her with no thumb wrap being a full participant because they won't say anything straight away

@@micdewitt That would be a fun fit. I'd think it might be tough to get free agents to want to live in Indy though, and the difference in pay between all the teams that want her probably won't amount to much because I think salaries are limited by time in the league.. I'm not sure of that though.

@@topgun298 yeah she was just one that somebody had mentioned in the comments that led to this video. Her, Fiebich, and Sophie. I’m swinging for a Temi raise and a Sabally signing otherwise I’m just signing our draft pick and then punting until next season. That is, without considering trades that could be uneven player-wise and open up spots, or if they waive players.

I don't think you get rid of Mitchell unless someone demonstrably better comes along who is also a good defender, someone like Allisha Gray or Ariel Atkins, in that mold of player. Some CZcamsrs and Twitter users severely underestimate her ability to take pressure off of CC by creating her own shot, even if she gets tunnel vision sometimes. In my opinion the much more pressing needs are at the Forward positions, both SF and PF. Smith is a pretty good rebounder and can score, but she is a REALLY not good pairing on defense with Aliyah Boston. Boston is a good defender in the post and has very good BBIQ, but she is not the quickest/fastest player for being a great defensive team. I think Temi is actually a pretty good pairing with her, but I'm thinking a player in the Temi/Ezi Magbegor prototype - long, mobile, athletic and can block shots. I really was hoping that Lexie Hull would be the answer at SF, but as of right now she seems like the quickness and athleticism of the players bothers her on the offensive side of the ball, but man she is BY FAR the best perimeter defender they have and it's not even close. They also in my opinion, need to give Grace Berger another opportunity before they even think of trying to look for a backup PG. She struggled earlier in the year, but I think she is a good player and certainly a better fit for running the point when they move Caitlin to SG as they like to do sometimes.

that's part of the reason I say either Sabally (or Stew unrealistically) or no big swing, just fill Wheeler's spot with a draft pick and give Temi the raise she has coming. Try for a big free agent in a year when there's not just two or three all flocking to the big cities, one of those A listers will look at things like the All Star voting and realize that playing with CC is like playing in the biggest market in the league when it comes to visibility. (and obviously move some bench pieces but I want to keep trades and coach/front offices firings separate)

your premise that all of the free agents this year are only signing one year deals is an assumption that I can tell you for a fact won't turn out to be true, so no, my premise doesn't "fall apart" just because you made an assumption and then said "therefore". Not a single star that I named is on a rookie contract, you need to research before commenting. You go redo a video and talk about the 12th men, as I already said in the video that all of the Fever's bench players are on the books until 26, so why would I talk about their replacements in '25? If the get waived or traded we'll talk then, I said clearly we're talking about free agents, and only Wheeler, Mitchell, and Temi come off the books. I said I want to re-sign both, so guess who that leaves smart ass? The big contract that Wheeler has. That's it. And guess who gets paid the amount that she gets paid, the big stars. So yeah that's who I talked about. You go make the video you want to see, and talk about filling roster spots that aren't open, if that's what you want to do. I understand everything about the contracts but if you made multiple videos a day then you'd know not all info in pertinent, sometimes you need to get to the point, or edit out your "facts and tidbits". I gave a logical reason, that being that we already see 1) the vast majority of the players in the WNBA have been structuring their contracts to not run past 2025 (except rookie contracts where there is no choice) and 2) there will be a LOT more money available in 2026 so players will want to participate in that. In response you have this logic, "I can tell you for a fact that won't turn out to be true." First, it's not a fact, if it is, prove it. Second, which part won't turn out to be true? Because we are already seeing the vast majority of WNBA players have structured their deals to not extend past 2025. That actually IS A FACT. I would love to get Ezi for the Fever, but I think honestly Seattle looks at her with almost the level of untouchability as they do with Jewell Loyd, maybe more.

Saniya is a good call, her athleticism is off the charts. They picked up some good transfer and one of my favorite freshies this class Zam jones so I'll be seeing Rivers a lot this season too. She's not leaving NY at all. It's really Satou or bust for me, as far as any major pickups. Paying Wheeler a star's salary is egregious, borderline misappropriation of funds lol. Lock em up!

Yeap Malonga is good. I thought of Satou but she is overweight right now. Nneka is the best if Fever can get her and please get JJ. Let go of Smith and Wheeler. Keep Temi and Hull

I'm not looking to pick up any expensive 34 yr olds personally, but she definitely has game. Also is the pres of the players union so I'm not looking forward to that negotiation lbvs, and it makes it harder for the young players (AB, CC) to assume natural leadership if you're bringing in that kind of locker room presence, IMO. I want somebody that's not going to retire right after winning one

Fiebs is restricted and they've only had her for a year so they may want more from her. 6'4" and can shoot from deep, defend guards, they probably are matching whatever you'd offer

Arike shoots like 23 times a game and shoots 35% from the field normally. She was great in the all star game, but not always.

Saxton on the team is what had me upset about Celeste being cut. I understood Dantas being hurt and having that spot from the get-go, but when there's another veteran big on the roster that couldn't get minutes when they desparately needed a big to play minutes, then you've already made your decision about her. Let's at least check the young one out and see what she looks like with a cpl hundred minutes under her belt.

Saxton was dpoy in the British pro league playing with Temi last season she should be getting minutes. This team has way too many guards.

@@nucl3arboNg she averaged 1 pt a game and shot 31% in the W last season. 25% this year. Unless she can hold A'ja Wilson to 12 she's going to have to get her offense in order to be playable for any real stretch or else she helps the other team's defense way more than she does Indy's

Saxton is close with Boston from what I have heard. Keep her if she makes Boston happy.
