Thanks for the video. I purchased a home that has a GE supra key box attached to it. The previous owners of the home did not know the combo. I am going to have to cut the box out unless there is another way to open it. What say you?

So I have a smart lock cylinder but it won't seat all the way into the cradle. The little bar that's in the back in the cradle, won't let it. Any ideas.

Could you theoretically pick the lock and then rekey it when it's in the correct position?

Wow! At 5:58 is the info I needed ... my lock set didn't have the 2 spring tabs as you show in the first 5 minutes, and it turns out your instructions at 5:58 to insert my key and rotate the lock 180 degrees did the trick instantly! I watched 3 other videos all explaining how to use the Kwikset tool (or 2 screwdrivers) but of course neither would work for me ... Thanks!

not a bad video... but confusing mentioning "rekeying". This has nothing to do rekeying- and when you rekey the Quikset, you don't have to take anything apart. 🙏🏾

hello i'm into locksport if i help anyone get into their lock and they would like it rekeyed I already have precut keys and key pins ready to rekey a lock I have schlage and kwikset keys ready with the appreciate bottom pins in reusable plastic bags so I do not have to go looking for the pins. I just take the key and bottom pins out and rekey the lock simple and fast. I do this to help the people who may not have the funds to pay someone for that. like older people who need that money for medicines they use. lots of people need some help now and then. I only do pin tumbler locks tho as I do not have high security parts available like medico or assa locks. and thanks to the lock sport and locksmiths online I have learned to properly shim open pin tumbler locks. no drilling needed. so thank you people for sharing your craft and have a wonderful day.......

Can you tell me how to reset for a new combo without knowing the existing combo and the lock is locked up. I dint know the existing combo therefore i cant open it. Thanks or maybe you can contact me thanks

Practicing locksmith here: I wouldn't dream of using the .005 kit because I can make more worn locks and keys work best with .003, I can use the next pin in an adjacent tub if I run out of spec pins on a job in a pinch, I can tune a lock to perfectly work. One clients Schlage master requires .159 pins for the 0 cuts and it works smooth as glass, spec pins or .005 would cause me to have to file or seize up the cylinder with the multiple generations of keys running around that facility.

Please do a vid on if the barrel accidently fell off with the doorknob is still on the door.

How do i remove lock from knob

Instead of the specialized plug follower tool, I used a scrap piece of plumbing copper pipe (3/8 nominal, 1/2" outside diameter). Also available as a plastic tube. Worked perfectly!

On the last one I twisted and the bolt comes out the end when I shorten it, so it’s impossible to close the door since the bolt is out but it won’t go back in unless I elongate the entire mechanism again Helppppp
