Yay, thanks for the video. 😄Auckland seems to be a pretty good and versatile ship for Ops. And after the day I had playing WoWS today, watching you really cheered me up. Usually I play around midnight to 2 am and I'm getting decent teammates almost every match, but today I thought I'd put in some matches before having to go to work, in the early afternoon, to get some of the challenge missions for french tokens out of the way and almost every match at least half the team seemed to have been lobotomized or something. My 2 "highlights" were : 1) Raptor Rescue, playing Cataluna, where a Kijkdun suicided by himself going after the southern CV without waiting for support and a Bismarck, Queen E, Graf Zep and London decided the repair circle was the place they needed to be for the whole match - very helpful that lot was to the rest of us. 2) Ultimate Frontier, playing as Auckland, with my 3 fellow cruisers dead before even the 3 early BBs were dealt with, an Amagi moving into the spawn area of the Atlanta bot and traveling only to ever stranger places from there, one teammate trying to give advice in chat to the bot Aoba on our team and a Bismarck hiding right next to the airfield while spamming support requests. I wonder, Void, do you get teams like that sometimes, too? Or do you notice differences in competence of your teammates based on the time of day sometimes? 🤔

Remember when we used to be able to bring T5 in operation? I wish WG's willing to rework the operation again. Make it a normal mode for T5-T6 ships and Hard mode for T7-T8.

Minefields... such a fun and engaging mechanic. Also, I hate Schnellboots. The way they are moving up and down as they pass through waves gives them magical dodging abilities with even the smallest amount of server desync/lag (in the first mission chain I saw shells pass through the ship model on my screen, but the rapid up-down movement of the ship apparently meant those shells were seen by the server as having passed above or fallen short). And despite it being historically accurate, I would prefer there to be no BBs in these missions. Almost every time I played the first D-Day mission there were 2 BBs on my team and they would either never shoot at coastal installations - preferring to fire at, and mostly miss, the small boats - or drive so close to the beach that the coastal guns would pick them to death long before the mission was over. Atlantic wall defense was pretty fun, though. Got a lot of use out of my T-61 for levelling up Lütjens (only 2 more points, yay). As for your ship of choice, I prefer the version of Omaha with 2 torp tubes per side to this one, for the reasons you mentioned, but I suppose bringing any Omaha-class ship to Omaha beach at least once is a bit of a must do. It's in the name, after all. 😅

After experimenting for years in Ops, the only ship I play is Tirpitz. Very few score better than me.

Picked this one up as well, though haven't tried it in an op yet just co-op. The guns are fun especially with the MRB going.

Overheard today at FleetFest Paris - WG are working on bringing in T9s and T10s into ops. Time dust off all my harbour queens/dockyard ships gathering rust in port.

z-38 is best for those 4 or 6 kind of dds. i made almost 2k base and over 1 k easily

The funny thing is, only one destroyer from that list have a long range AA at 5.2 km... T-22. Set them up with improved AA and watch those planes plunging into the sea 😁 Z-39 is decent in this mode, decent torpedo damage, range and reload, decent concealment, guns hit like a truck, and also got 5 km hydro.

I had been using the Z-34 for a bit for the 6k hydro but after messing around with the different rentals and then coming back to Maass I found new appreciation for it. Kinda wish they gave at least one of the rentals better AA though if they were going to ask players to shoot down planes.

Does the operation tailor what bot ships spawn based on the tier of the human team? Or are lower tier ships just at a flat disadvantage compared to T7?

Good info. I played two in the live server so far. Played Maas and T-61 - was wondering about the rentals and why use them. This helps.

To respond to the theme of rhis vid, I would vote for Mainz and Bayard for the cruiser category, and Brandenburg and Scharnhorst for BBs. The new Wiesbasen is also good. But BBs wise, i think both Zieten and Bismarck trump any premium BBs, including Massachusetts.

There are not too many WoWS channels that are PvE focused. So i subscribed right away. I have bee a random op main for years. There are basically 2 categories of ships that generally do well in ops: high dpm cruisers and secondaries focused BBs. DDs and CVs can work but they are not ranked top often. If u need credits and various free XPs quick, Bayard with IFHE and Mainz are your picks. Hydro equipped German BBs are geeat too as these ships allow highly aggressive plays. It is not difficult to have secondaries contribute more than 60% of your total dmg。

WV 44 definitely seems like the right BB for this op. I'm close to getting her through the dockyard. I like that the devs tried to create an Op that was somewhat faithful to history (setting aside the fact that the Kriegsmarine only deployed Schnellboots on D-day), but dealing with the multitude of small targets is somewhat tedious.

i dont have the rewards or intellegance data tabs. i have won intellegence date 3 times now.

I got Rodney today. She's quite effective in Ops - the 30k damage torps are hilarious, and the guns hit extremely hard at close range with the Soviet dispersion pattern. She's squishy, but she gets a fast-reloading heal that repairs 50 percent of citadel damage. The premiums I like best for the current Ops are Prinz Eugen, Atago, Cossack, Hornet, and Scharnhorst. I also like Vanguard - she tends to get a bad rap because of her awful firing angles, but she has sweet guns and handles like a dream.

Thanks for posting this! I really enjoyed Salem in Asymmetric Battles, and think she'd be great for Ops, too. I also like Yoshino in PVE, though she's relatively fragile and clumsy. I might get Forrest Sherman as my next coal ship.

I vote for Mainz and slap it with Lutjen. Main battery reload is really madness for tier 8

Great video! I also found with the WV’44 the most consistent success shooting HE with my main battery. Have you ever been able to take out either aerodrome?

So far after 5 games in the live server (with the group of course), I found that Atlanta, Boise, Helena, and Sims work very well.

Playing a battleship in this OP is definitely rough if you don't have good allies. You'd think they'd be good for taking out the shore batteries at least, but I noticed when I tried you get some pretty bad dispersion against them making it hard to get solid hits. That being said, getting at least a win in this OP isn't too hard. Haven't had that be an issue yet. Getting the secondary objectives has been pretty hit or miss though and haven't had a 5-star finish yet.

You have no clue how to do these, its not a selfish endeavor to torp stuff its about working together to finish the objectives, what you go do north does NOTHING to help your team, NOTHING to keep the game alive by saving the regimens its pathetic and WRONG gameplay, no question about it.

Nice video. Ship Smasha I'd avoid. It is a Fenyang (a gimped Akizuki). Why not just get Akizuki for free instead? Similar with the W40K Amagis.
