R.I.P. Sherwood Schwartz

Sherwood Schwartz, creator of The Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island and many other shows died on July 12th 2011 of natural causes. My personal favourite show of his was The Brady Bunch (and all the shows that stemmed off it). Even though I wasn't born until 1996 and wasn't able to grow up with these shows, they still mean alot to me and I enjoy watching the reruns. Atleast when his time came, it c...

Keep On Movin' from the brady bunch episode 'amateur night'......i have edited this so there is no big introduction at the beginning for the silver platters and there i cut out the small scene with alice telling the parents (so basically this video gets straight to the song)

The songs the I felt were the best of The Brady Bunch Variety Hour medleys.....put together by me :)
fake jan pfft
Love The Brady Bunch, Great song,s.
I will always love The Brady Bunch ❤
"If you cannot dance, move your arms from side to side."
Was Barry trying to imitate Elvis in the opening number?
Barry Williams was hoping to be the next David Cassidy.
Ann B Davis (Alice) Was born in 1926, and was 51 here. She won two Emmy’s back in the 1950’s She died at age 88.
Variety shows seemed typical of this B list of usual people They were around for years back then. There was five channels back then. PG and rated R didn’t exist back then. So many forms of variety shows. Hollywood Palace Sonny and Cher show Carol Burnett show Ed Sullivan All have that formula I couldn’t stand these shows as a teen.
the lip-syncing, canned applause, and the sheer cringe of it all brings me back to my teen years. Not as bad as the Lawrence Welk show of the same era, but damn close.
So bad its funny
Make it stop
I dont care what anyone says, Peter was cute af
Bobby looks like Chaka
Perms were big in the 70's.
They are great
Who stole Jan? Is she hiding in Barry Williams’ bells?
Such a good vibe, Happiness, cheerfulness, comradery...
Never thought I would EVER hear a disco version of Live and Let Die 😳😳🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I wonder why Bobby wasn't dancing with them? It was like when Jan didn't dance with them during the square dancing because she wanted to be an only child and they were invisible. I wonder if something happened with Bobby?
He was worried that he had the mumps (from kissing Millicent) and was trying to stay away from the family to avoid giving it to them.
Eve Plumb was the smart one for passing on this opportunity.
The music was just so good back then. Such a talented group.
That's not how we did the Hustle.
Geri can really sing!
Oh...gods...I am torn between parsing the song and costume choices, the relative abilities of the cast at singing and dancing, the choreography, the 1970's disco Era arrangements...and crying "make it stop!" Yes, kudos to the cast for going all in and all out in this extravaganza. Now that I have seen it, I am inspired to go all out at doing what I want to do with my life and not watch this again unless I need to be reignited.
When Germans say, "We have ways of making you talk.", showing episodes of this is one of the ways, and if you do not cooperate, "We will show you video of Robert Reed singing and dancing again." is certain to be one of the threats they will make.
I saw Florence Henderson in person. She was wonderful!
This show always puts a smile on my face.
I need to smile now.
Geri is a Lovely Lady. I count her a friend.
If I didn't like this show, I would change the channel; and I wouldn't be a fan for So Long.
I have something in common with Maureen McCormick. For one thing, we're both named Maureen. 2. I actually broke my nose. It was very painful, especially if I sneezed. Doug Simpson, broke our date as well.....LOL
Maureen was actually on Happy Days.
14:30 Mr. Brady said the heck with it.
We did do the HUSTLE like do in California
There is no ‘best’ of this mess…
Can you sing
This was probably when nostalgia started to be popular thanks to American Graffiti.
"Turn the Beat Around" -- Wow! Fake Jan has a tremendous voice!

l knew that was not her
Sherwood Schwartz was a greedy predator who got filthy rich from TBB and GI and NEVER shared the wealth with the actors who made the shows a success. The casts were underpaid while the shows were in production, and they were paid almost nothing in residuals. The reason he was so against 'The Brady Bunch Family Hour' is because he was afraid they were going to make a nickel and he couldn't get his grimy hands on it. It's kooks like him that made the Hollywood television entertainment industry such a cesspool. No wonder Red Skelton fired him. Despicable man!!🤑
Fake Jan seems to be the best all-around talent in the group aside from Florence Henderson. We won't mention Robert Reed.
Alice got the moves!
Today is the first day of Spring! Good bye Winter!
Maureen McGovern also sang this song.
I Loved the dancing in the 70s.
I Loved The Hustle.....we did it as a couple.
Mrs Bradys suit is bomb!
This is right up Robert Reeds alley.
Sweet God, those edibles are kicking in, wicked..
Amazin'!
Johnny Bravo.
Aka Johnny Barfo.
why did they think we would acCept FAKE JAN! SHE COULD OF NEVER BEEN A brady!
They butchered every popular song they could get their hands on. Super cringe! "The Hustle" was the most painful....ouch.
I'm old enough to have actually seen these shows when they aired back in the day. So as cheesy, cringey, corny & showy as this show was in all of it's shameless, shiney, glittery tin-foil glory, I still get nostalgic when I watch it.
You have to give them credit for their effort and showmanship.
They did it because they got good momey
I wish America was this innocent again.
It was never this innocent
@@teresas8173 It was far better than it is now.
I thought this was corny back in the day but I find it wistfully endearing now. I enjoy visiting all of yesteryear's family friendly nostalgia along with many other light hearted fare from far in the past.. Throw in some Soul Train, American Bandstand, Carol Burnett , Sonny and Cher, Donny and Marie and Midnight Special and mix thoroughly. Add a whole lot of Ed Sullivan, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and Andy Williams. Helps to remember how sunny and silly and cheesy and upbeat we were once upon a time. Especially today in these dark and dire and distressing days.Saccharin sweet marshmallow? Better than bittersweet harsh mallow.
Bobby was a born entertainer. It's too bad he didn't have more success than he did. The kid was charisma personified.
If by Bobby, you mean Fake Jan, then yes.
@@skaetur1 Lol
So Jan was always the one with all the middle child problems. She had low self-esteem, yet they go and get this new Jan who sings better than all of them which really throws the whole thing out of proportion because she doesn't belong there to begin with and yet they give her all the big singing parts. It just doesn't make sense, just never really realize that back then because quite frankly, even back then it was really goofy to watch all this musical craziness from BB.
Greg could've been a teen heartthrob, but he was so goofy, most importantly he thought he was it. He should've humbled himself. Even older movies where he comes out as an adult he thinks he's super 🔥>🤔🤨
Barry admits he was arrogant then. Like when someone wanted him to audition he would say turn on the TV and watch me there.
I agree. It's quite amusing to see just how hot stuff he thought he was when he really wasn't all that great.
