I decided to record a short video and explain briefly the current state of this channel, and where I'll be headed with content I upload going forward.
Making Vtuber tutorials helped me get started with making content online as a Vtuber, but in 2023 I struggled with the realization that it's not something I want to make videos on going forward. There are also many other great Vtuber tutorial channels out there that can easily give you the information you are looking for.
So with that in mind, the type of content I will be sharing here is going to change drastically, and I'm going to try making some new types of videos.

2d is more soft, 3d is more view
no matter what i do i cant seem to get anything to work. everything is on the latest instalments cause well i just downloaded them today... then i go watch vids and make sure to have the same version as them and it still wont work. same with urs.... i just cant seem to get my vroid studio character anywhere UPDATE: okay... handy tip 4 yall. dubble check you put that 1 in the version, if you leave it black it'll not work like at all

Can u tell me one thing I have a doubt so I have files that I use for vtube studio but can it be used as for vmagicmirror app you say?
Vtube studio is for a 2d live2D model, whereas vmagicmirror only works with a 3D character or avatar

How the heck did you have your hair that cool outline?
If you import the vrm into other 3d programs you can edit the materials. I used a vrm plugin for unity and tweaked the settings there before exporting again
Well, I've done all 5. And now im struggling to use blender for the accessories.
I dont usually like using others assets so i make my own sure its not as good as others but it gets the job done

Could you make a tutorial on how to import models from vroid to vtube studio if you know how please? I cant seem to find a video anywhere 😭💔
Vroid models are 3D, while vtube studio only supports 2D models which are normally custom made by artists and riggers. You'll need to find a different program like VSeeFace to use a vroid model in a 3D environment

I used a plugin in unity to automatically create the extra blend shapes/expressions. It's called Hana tool on booth.pm. there might be something similar that exists for blender. Then you just stream facial motion data from an iPhone app to blender or another program for live movement. There are plenty of tutorials online, so I recommend trying to figure out each piece or problem by solving one at a time then moving on to the next until you've created the environment that you want to work with. Why we can't just manually without add-ons do lipsync of vroid charcters? Is it not possible
@@Animation-ue6to doing it manually is possible, but the longer your clip is the more work you have to do to match the expressions.
@@TomPixel no bro no problem the real problem is of doing lip sync manually of like 4 seconds i cant get it it gets like merged
@Animation-ue6to I've never done animation with a vroid model on blender before so I can't really help you, try some more key frames or looking for tutorials on making expressions

Vtube studio only works with live2d models. I recommend VSeeFace for a great free 3D vtuber program.

Vtube studio is for 2D models, while Vroid creates a 3D model, therefore it isn't compatible. You will need to use a different program such as VSeeFace

I wanna ask what to do after I make my vtuber model
You can use the exported vrm in most 3d vtuber software, or you can further upgrade it with a few other tweaks such as making the expressions better. I have a couple other videos talking about it in a playlist on my channel👍
i just make my charcter like shadow like with suit lol
original expressions are ugly tbh LMAOO
one of my favourite tips was to remove the signature "vroid shine" thats often the biggest give away you are using vroid if you port your vroid model into vrchat lol
The vroid shine? I haven’t used vroid (yet) and I personally don’t want my model to look… bland.. is it a form of shading that can be turned off?
The default hair and body textures that are preloaded onto every model. Basically just changing these will already make it look very different

Any way to make clothing textures not look like PSOne flat graphics? That is what they look like now.
If you create custom outfits there is the option to add different pieces to the tops. With a bit of texturing work you can make simple multi layered clothing
How do you do facial expressions?
In vroid under the face tab there is an expressions section where you can adjust the values to change the depth of the expression

i leave skin under clothes for the sole fact.... most of the clothes i make u would see the missing skin if u look down and i've been doing this for a few years
If you can find a way to leave the skin without it clipping then I recommend doing this, it also gives you the freedom for different toggleable outfits if you can leave more of the skin layer intact
@@TomPixel mostly the chest clips on my models but if i can i color the skin on the biggest clipping areas to the color of the outfit so if it clips its not noticed but im still learning ways to keep the skin and reduce clipping which might be a blender thing tho

There are always exceptions 😁 these are more general guidelines

When editing the expressions in vroid you can change how the face looks, or in Unity you can edit the blend shapes

Be honest: Is there anything on Booth that I couldn't make in VRoid vanilla if I already know how to texture? Or am I missing something? And yes, I just downloaded Vroid 2 weeks ago, so I'm a noob. But I also almost paid real money for boots I could have opacity-ed from a bodysuit.
Most of the stuff on there could be recreated if you know how someone made it. However, using assets from there is a great way to have a look at how someone built their pieces which you could then use for inspiration on your own assets 😁.
Both can make you money if you are an artist. So I'm cool with either.
So I customized my model back during the beta version of Vroid Studio and when I transferred it to the new version my model got a nice glowup. Hard to explain what it is but the skin just has a glow about it that doesn't exist if I make a brand new model in the new version. It almost looks like the model wasn't made in Vroid and I haven't seen another Vroid model out there that looks like it went through what my model did
It could be something the program does when it converts it
I use 3D because im not rich enough to get a 2D model, but 2D models are better in some ways
There are pros and cons for both, but the price is an important factor 💸

I have a character that I just redid the bottom structure around the ponytail. Before, that area didn't even look like it led into the ponytail, aiming down like normal short hair. The visual guide came from seeing how Rowen's ponytail was wrapped in Tales of Xillia/2. The vroid character doesn't even look like me. I just have a fascination for characters with long hair. The software is brilliant. It helped me realize a humanoid look for my OC mii.
Using references is a great way to make some awesome custom meshes 💇♂️
