    Thanks for making things nigh incomprehensible to the consumer. Great job! Fantastic! It's bad enough that retailers continue to sell both products labelled with the old system and those with the new 2021 system, but there is also no coherence nor any simple explanations for the attribution of a rating. If a 4W bulb is rated G (2021) and an 8W bulb is rated D (2021), I know I'm missing something. Is it a ratio of energy draw to luminous output? Probably, but they don't say. Thank you, genius Laptop Class! Thank you for your brilliant ideas and superlative problem-solving abilities!

      dude in eu about bulbs, you have 4w bulb G and 8 wat bulb D ,but they are not same doag, there is lumin number how bright its lighting, pick lumins first and the K variant color more k more white it would be. it is shown on packaging. i myself pick lumins the k which i need at home and than it goes out buying less W as it always will be lower as in time they get better especially led.

    I agree that it's way too expensive still .even with the 3000 euro grant ...(battery and panels) Most you can put up is six panels without planning..you would save about 400 euro a year after outlaying seven or eight thousand euro ..from a ten thousand euro system id say half of that is profit for the installer who installs it in a day..nice money if you can get it..other country's are half the price to get put up.planning should be changing as there's a bill going through at the moment to abolish the six panel limit before you have to apply for planning....who knows when this will come through.nobody is going to go solar pv untill the planning and prices are better sorted.

    From 1 November 2019, new building standards will apply to all new residential dwellings (houses or apartments). New dwellings will typically require a Building Energy Rating (BER) of A2. Thanks for posting this interesting video. You made some great points. I also think uptake would be higher if there were more charge points, as well as more than just one fast charger in in each location, to avoid single points of failure. Seeing more charge points everywhere also builds confidence for people who are considering switching.

  • @jeffjo8732
    @jeffjo8732 Před 3 lety

    A better name for a BEV is a Charge Depleting Electric Vehicle. "Electric Vehicle" means that it is propelled by electric motors. "Charge Depleting" means that you "charge" is by storing electricity in a battery, and continuously (more or less) deplete that charge while driving. And its range is how far it drives before depleting it all. An HEV is a not a Charge Depleting EV. It is a Charge Sustaining Electric Vehicle. You don't charge it, it maintains an average level of charge itself (more in the next paragraph) and uses that charge to make the gas engine more efficient. Since it doesn't deplete the charge, talking about its electric range is pointless. Most of the charge sent to an HEVs battery comes from the engine driving both the wheels, and a generator, at the same time. Not from regenerative braking. A typical gas engine might be 25% to 30% efficient while generating enough power to maintain a cruising speed, but can be 40% efficient if it generates more than that. Even with losses associated with the chargeing cycle, the 30% to 60% increase in gasoline utilization results in a net savings of gas.
