Katahdin air service offered to fly me out for free but I stayed behind with the Mayor Of Rainbow Lake, Leon Emery 🌲⛰️🌈 For his kindness and complete coolness they flew him out a pizza, a 12 pack of Bud Light and a bottle of Gatorade.
The particular spot I was at is the same spot the Mayor’s father first brought him when he was 6 years old, 61 years ago. The Mayor won his election by a LANDSLIDE 2 votes and one of them was his son 🌲🎒💖🌈🥾
His son, Josh, was born in a BLIZZARD out in front of his dad’s junior high school, right here in the North Woods of Maine. Men like this are born from the soil of Maine. I heard Josh tell his dad he loved him before he left to fish and when he returned. First thing in the morning I hear, “ I love you dad, thank you for these woods”………I look outside my tent and Josh hugs his dad and his dad embraces him :)

Josh and Leon (mayor) are absolutely AWESOME people! We were just at the camp a couple of weeks ago fishing for char! Josh told me all about the rescue mission but i had no idea it was recorded! They absolutely know what to do, the best people you could've come across at a time like that
