They will have R268s. The R268s in the future will go to the N Q S T and W Trains. I think R268s can go to the T since if they extended the second avenue line.

And with that, we have a total of 200 cars in service. (180 R211A’s and 20 R211T’s)

This line ran at grade until it was elevated by the LIRR in 1942. Just 8 years later, the LIRR ended service on the line due to the trestle fire. The City bought the trackage for just $8 million in 1953, adapted it for IND usage and IND trains began to run on it in 1956.

The subway lines are the arteries of this city and the trains are the blood that runs through them and give it life. Without the subways - dirty, worn, smelly though it may be - this city could not exist. The subways remain a marvelous tribute to the foresight of designers and builders who lived a century ago or more and who couldn’t imagine how important their work would be in 2024.
