Why just do all the extra steps and just have it be diesel Plus you don't really have to worry about the environment all that much because diesel is statistically better for the environment than gasoline plus you still get the torque and horsepower benefits and better off-road performance just leave it as a diesel what if you really want to worry about the environment so much just make it a hybrid where you can swap between the diesel and electric motor depend upon situation and what is required

I’m guessing this in Canada…. I’d rather be in my parents basement than a tent I’m getting told to move or renting with someone I don’t know or trust.

Now we sit and wait for him to figure out he actually just increased his fuel costs even though he isn't paying tax on the fuel anymore because he is losing 20% in the conversion. also, they will eventually find a way to make you pay that tax for an electric vehicle. They are just pushing those right now, so they are happy to let you think you are getting away with something.

So you're not paying your fair share of taxes because your vehicle has an electric motor? Your electric vehicle has a high rate of wear and tear on the infrastructure. Tire wear/pollution is higher. It's like staying at home and being paid the same for a job that another actually goes out to do. If you like electric, fine, but there's not special treatment here. That loop hole will soon close.

However, you saving money is at the expense of road maintenance. You are causing more damage to the roads and not paying any of the taxes that support the roads.

Edison didn't steal Tesla's Idea, he chose not to pay him. Tesla was successful and very rich well after leaving Edison. That is until mental illness and bad financial decisions drove him to poverty and poor health.

The thing that most people don’t realize, and Elon has spoken about, is the mass manufacturing process is a mess. You can build two electric semis because you converted two preexisting trucks. And they are just for you. There’s no pressure to mass produce millions of these. Tesla has to design and prototype an entire truck, and get a concept to work from scratch, not a preexisting semi. Then, they have to build an entire factory and specialized machinery to mass produce that specific truck. And then, they run into production and distribution problems. I’m not faulting your idea, it’s awesome. But people have to understand the vast difference in converting a couple trucks to electric vs mass producing an entire fleet for the world, free of issues and design flaws, whilst also passing strict regulations for various countries.

Soooo... any physicist, or engineers in here? How efficient are power generators compared to gas engines including the power loss when tranfering from generator to battery to electric motor instead of just from gas to motor? Sounds like he is paying that tax in inefficiency, also adding the cost of having to replace an expensive battery while polluting more. Where is the W in all this? Its another "freak-in solar driveway!"
