This is actually the point when the Bet Awards started to go downhill even more. It is not like how it use to be. Truly times have changed. It use to be such an exciting time. For so many of us. We looked forward to seeing the show every year from 2001- 2006 were the best years of this award show. Then there too again bet network was good as well. They had great writer's, producers. When Bob Johnson was over it. But when Debra Lee took over that's when we saw what we knew and had grown to love. Crumble greatly it made a huge difference in the materials and shows that they choose to show. I now say rest in peace to the good times. We all once shared and saw on television. Bet network sucks big time now. I know that times have changed. But at least they could show some of the old award shows, television shows, movies and things. This new stuff is terrible and not worth the time to even watch. Thank goodness for youtube and those who have captured great moments from shows awards, movies and so on. Thank you for bring back great times and even happier memories.

The studio wanted Robert Townsend to remove the scene where him and his sister were singing & the scene when Eddie & Baby Doll sung i feel like going on. Cookie was played by Kasi Lemmons. She was also in School Daze, Silence Of The Lambs, Candyman, The Drop Squad & Gang Related. She also directed Eve’s Bayou & I Wanna Dance With Somebody. My favorite song is the one of the oens you don't care for "You're All I Need" lol. I always thought the song should've been led by Dawn and then I found out she originally lead it.
