Poboktan trail backpacking, Jonas cutoff to trailhead day 3 Jasper National Park

We decided to not go out through Nigel pass and spend 2 more days out there as storm was coming in. We made the right decision, by time we got to town of Jasper the hail had already started and the rain was heavy. So stayed night in Hinton. It was a crazy downpour that continued till noon the next day. Most of all Bernie was right the high elevations did get snow!

Very nice video and now I'm your new subscriber please stay connected and have a great day ❤️
Thank you, glad you enjoyed
Not good meal 😞
We had no issues
How was the food?
For us was great, no issues and at the time we went the only shortage is cola. I will do a video this weekend of some of the food. We took lots of photos
Thanks for your video! Looks beautiful!
Thank you, we enjoyed our time there
Que cheo todo en la Isla Carcel
If there is a big storm rolling in, you made the right call with turning back. Better to be safe when you’re out there.
Grizzly country!😮😅
That’s awesome
Beautiful
Thank you
Wow beautiful backpacking trip! Thanks so much for making this video Jason! Incredible! :) I hope your knee is all healed up now :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed. Yes the knee has helped pretty well during the backpacking season so far this year
from the trailhead, how many km to hike to that waterfalls? beautiful campsite view you have. would love to do a dayhike if it’s not that far. tia
12k each way, but it isn’t strenuous so it can be done
@@jasonegervarithank you!
Are there Bear lockers at Hidden Lake? Doing this on Wed. 😊
No they have poles for hanging, enjoy your trip
Great vid. How far from the lodge to pass RT. Thanks.
Thanks 10k each way. I think we did in 7 hours and stayed at the pass for a hour of that
supr! cool editing~do you want more subscribers?~
Great video of your hike Jason! Jasper National Park looks amazing, so many highlights out there and perfect weather conditions! I hope your knee healed quick. Stay safe out there, Mario
Thanks Mario, appreciated. Tried skoki in 3 weeks after and had to bail. We were all moving slow out there. Redid part of the trip the week after and the knee held up great, kept it small instead of the loop.
What time of year was this trip?
1st of July

Any chance you could link the timestamp where the creek-crossing happens? I'm researching the road ahead of a trip I have planned and would love to see what I'll be dealing with before I get there :)
9:30 into video, it was small here, depends on melt but shouldn’t be to much of a issue or parks Canada shuts down the road
Ahh thanks so much!
Exceptionally beautiful and being there is even more so. A once in a lifetime adventure! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, been there 3 times now and cant wait to do again
Hey, nice video. I was wondering if there are any restrictions on using inflatable boats in lakes like moraine, lake louise or other lakes in jasper and banff? I have a seahawk 4.
None
Nicely made! we love Coliseum Mountain!. #DTCountry
:-)
Very nice video ...thx for sharing and keep going Buddy! Regards from Calgary..! 👍💕🍷👌
Thanks appreciated, cant wait for more
Awesome, just got off a week a go. I hear you, vid won't do justice. Here to add our support to a fellow creator14! Great view!
Did you need the 4x4 turned on at all with this? I have a Honda CR-V with AWD, tempted to drive this
Graham Roth you wont have a issue, the only area is dropping into the creek a bit 1/2 way through. Go in on a angle and your fine.
It’s an easy drive. Just hope you done meet up with some idiot coming the other way. It’s a one way road that is on a schedule.
Very nice. I can't wait to get up there!
Gorgeous scenery with the gopro!!! :)
123danyk123 thank you
Amazing video of the Northern Lights!! :) like the pictures also!!!
123danyk123 thanks
Great videos Jason. I subscribed to your channel. I do many of the same areas as you. I've been to the falls as well as climbed Jimmy Simpson which is just up to the right of the Falls. I make videos of all my hikes and climbs as well. Cheers.
Harlan Fox, Hi Harlan, thanks, and thanks for subscribing. I've been subscribed to your channel for some time now, you always have great videos.hope you have a great and safe hiking, scrambling season and look forward to seeing new areas of your adventures, jason
Really love that view, love the nature :D Greetings from Denmark =D
TheTrainOFantasy Thank you
Beautiful. The waters in the mountains are always such sweet siren songs.
Roamancing Travel thank you
You are most welcome!
Great video, You got a shot of 4 of the Rampart peaks at 7:04 at least you saw them. I did that hike in mid July. Rained all 3 days. low cloud cover, didn't see a peak of anything.
A Scott's Life thanks, will be definately booking this trip again for August this year, was disappointed we decided to cut it short, but after snow they had the following day, kinda made up for that decision
Nice. I've wanted to go here for a very long time now!
Awesome! Spent a day there on my Banff Yoho Jasper trip last summer but decided to do the Opal Hills hike instead. I have a few videos from up there I have been meaning to upload. Anyhow, can't wait to get back, Bald Hill next time!
Great video! I'm planning to do this trail next year and was wondering how much time it took. Is it a steep upwards climb then flat? Thanks!
thanks, it's a great trail, round-trip was 5-6 hours for us, took a bit longer as 1 guy twisted his knee. I didn't find it that steep overall, steepest being in the woods(maybe a hour) but once your out above treeline it's worth it, and felt that I didn't really realize we were still going up as the views are very impressive.
Jason Egervari Thanks! I'll definitely try it next year. I've been reading up, and it looks beautiful.
One other thing. Which way did you take? I know there are some different lengths or loops and am not sure which one to take. I know Celeste Lake is one option, but I've about a hut that you can stay at to. I'm willing to go far, but not the whole length. Thanks again!
+Creekchaser 911 we started at the hostel just before the falls, it's shorter then celeste lake but a little steeper. I did the trail to twin falls on a different day as couldn't book a campsite as they were full. Otherwise would have done the loop including whaleback. Going Celeste way is kinda boring unless you like trees or it's a rainy day, there are a few waterfalls but nothing beats the alpine. Either hut or little yoho campground would be good for overnight
Thanks for the help! So there is the Little Yoho campground along the iceline trail?
Wow, what a wide, wonderful scenery, I like that a lot. Greetings from Germany
Wow!!! Really enjoy the pictures and videos of the waterfall :) :)
thanks
Amazing video and pictures :)
thanks
+Jason Egervari :) Continue your amazing video of the Canadian Rockies :)
Breathtaking pictures and videos of the falls, clouds, Canadian Rockies!!! :) :) Can't wait for the next videos.
Thanks, should be a couple days, need some time to put together paradise valley and giant steps
So sweet! Looks like a rad place, I'm gonna have to check it out
Amazing picture of the scenery!!!! :) love the picture at 10:21. Wow so you can drink water from the falls in the Canadian Rockies???
Yes and no, depends on water source and location. This is glacier fed so you may get some silt. Although this was very clean as long as you use moving water the rocks are used as purifying. I got the water just before the last waterfall we seen and neither of us had any stomach issues from it
You can get Beaver fever otherwise known as Giardia infection in some parts of the mountains. It is a nasty parasite that gives you diarrhea for weeks and can take a while to get rid of even with antibiotics. Remember the last clean water disappeared from the planet decades ago. It might not bother you, but...
Breathtaking video and pictures of the scenery!
Thanks it was a enjoyable spot for a picnic
+Jason Egervari Can I please request a video if possible?
More cloud videos? :) I didn't forget, just haven't gone out as much
+Jason Egervari Yes :) with the incredible mountain!!!
+123danyk123 sure I can put together one after my trip out on 18th, working on 2 more videos from this weekends trip including long one with Grizzly and cubs right now
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing the beauty of where you are from in Canada :)
Breathtaking scenery view!
thanks, definately a great hike to do
+Jason Egervari It probably worth it just for the amazing view of the Mountains, clouds and the lakes, rivers! It must be even more breathtaking during Autumn or winter at the sunrise, sunset!!! :)
+123danyk123 I'm sure it is, think this was last week of June as they put on mandatory group access after that, lots of bears are known to be in the area after that, we did see 2 that day, but they were off in the distance. it would be a great spot to setup a tent though for sure if parks canada allowed it there
Breathtaking views :)
Incredible picture and video of the Canadian Rockies!!! And amazing cloud also!! :) :) :) :)
Beautiful! :)
