pdean_photography is A portfolio of a cypress swamp in NWC Fla . I trekked back into the swamp from 2014 through 2016 taking just still shots. Some thumbnail pics are still pics I've taken while trekking into the Fla Swamp very near my home. A few pics just a few hundred feet from my porch .When I say near I'm talking within a few hundred yards of my porch in some pics. Most pics were taken after walking a couple of hours deep into the swamp of which I live on the very edge.
Recently moved and the main focus is my Bonsai collection restarted after the move. Gave all stuff away before the move ….. aquariums ,bonsai, large potted tropical plants so I would not have to move them all. Gave awaaay a fortunes worth of stuff. Sort of a start over move. I love the new forest and a few paranormal stuff happenings too. There is something in those woods and I’ve seen all the normal stuff, Deer, Fox , Raccoons, Diamondback rattlesnakes etc etc . But there’s something else too.

UPDATE 7/29/24 CALIF COASTAL REDWOODS &BAOBABS
Hey CZcamsrs, this is an update on the California coastal redwoods which I bought is seedlings back in February I think and the African and Madagascar Baobab trees. The Redwoods I bought a seedlings and the Baobas were germinated from seeds.. my plan is to leave them in these huge pots for a year or two at which point gonna cut them back to about 8 inches from the soil.. As you can see, I’ve done wiring on the trunks to be cut back to that shape.

Hey you tuber this is a new addition to my collection . Japanese garden Juniper and as you can see, it needs a lot of refining like wiring and limbs removed. Also need to repot it in an appropriate size pot. Needs bonsai soil also. I’ll do an update ( updated 7/22/24) soon but right now I’m gonna let it adjust to its news surroundings since I don’t know what it’s been through before it got here...

CZcamsrs, this is a video to revise the previous video about defoliating ficus to reduce sleep size. In the previous video, I left too much of the leaf on so I have to go back and cut the leaf off just a tiny bit above the stem while leaving just a little bit of the leaf on, this will reduce the leaf size quite a bit.

Hey CZcamsrs, this is a 3 to 4 year-old rooted cutting of the parent plant sitting next to it, which I defoliated maybe two months ago. By cutting off 2/3 of 3/4 off the leaves near the stem the new growth comes back considerably smaller. Sometimes half the size or smaller.. Hey CZcamsrs, this update on my Retusa ficus bonsai. I believe about a month or so after I defoliated it. As you can see, the leaf size has been reduced quite a bit . The work required is a little laborious, removing all the leaves, but it’s well worth it as you can see.

The breathing was just like hominid and it was big, but I can’t say what it was because I didn’t see it I can say one thing for sure smarter than you average bear.
And I keep my RV at Camp paying rent monthly which increased almost twice as much as I did a year ago before the camp sold to a new owner. Next time, if there is, I’ll have my flashlight, which is the highest lumens produced on the market and I’ll get an image or footage like I did that thing back in the swamp off the trail and you can see it on my channel title “ is this a Cryptid” Check it out it’s not the hairy man, but it ain’t supposed to be there either

beautiful planted aquarium. A pike has forever been my favorite fish. Always wanted to keep one but they grow to big. How large does a redfin pickerel grow? Is 100gl large enough for a forever home? I hope so. I would love to do the same here at home. Nice job pdean.

Hey Mattmiller, this is happening solely because I have no choice. The land I have leased for 20 yrs has been sold and all are moving on. I'd planned to release all natives back into the ponds sooner than later but this B.......tch has sold us down the road when we told this camp would not change EVER ? I will pick it up down the road and continue my uploads in the near future. Thanks for the comment but please like and sub because it really makes all the work put in worth it.

I'm fascinated by the pitcher plant hanging next to a tank.
I've seen bigfoot twice. Yes they are real. The first time was very close and we stared into each other's eyes for a few minutes. He wasn't behind anything and we were facing each other. He had a 100% human expression on his face. Yet at the time I thought it was a gorilla never having seen a gorilla before. Many years later I saw gorillas in the zoo and was surprised they didn't look like what I saw. Thinking it over I've decided they are a type of human because of the facial expression and the look in his eyes. The one I saw didn't have a smell. It was terrifying unlike any fear I've ever felt. The second one I saw was out in a field in Central Florida. The smell is either from a musk gland probably males have, or it's from carrying dead animals around that it hunted and caught. I saw a photo of one with what looked like a dead deer slung over it's shoulder. Like you, I'm not saying this for attention just relating what happened. Or the smell could just be from being filthy. You could set up a trail cam there with some bait, some apples or oranges. Although they are smart enough probably to not get photographed.
I had some thing behind my place at night maybe 20 yards away on a moonless night with me having a dead flashlight I came out on my porch to walk my dachshund and immediately I heard it was completely silent, except for something sitting 20 yards away not moving just breathing. I had a strange, intense fear at the thought. This thing was bigger and smarter than any animal I’ve been around and it could have me and rip my head off in less than three seconds. I just stood there, frozen looking in the direction of this breathing, its respiration didn’t change it was calm, just watching me after what seemed like an eternity maybe 3 to 5 minutes I decided it wasn’t showing aggression so I just took my dog down the walkway to the road out front and he did his business immediately and wanted to go back in. He didn’t bark which was way weird, he was acting confused when I got back to my side porch I was a little scared cause I didn’t know if it would charge or what. But it was gone and I didn’t hear anything and I could have because I only walked maybe 30 yards and came right back up the walkway to the porch, it moved without making any noise and in that area that’s impossible. It changed my life. I am obsessed.
I see they have a 16 gallon one for $270. I'm considering the 4 gallon one.
In my experience of 50 + yrs of keeping aquariums it is easier to keep a tank cleaner the larger it is.

Don’t think so. Been close to bears just smell very different like nothing I’ve ever smelled before. Just got to chill down my back. It was watching me while I was filming the vid of pulling a fish trap. I think it was . I heard movement right behind me in a palmetto bush. I thought it was a palm frond falling off the dollar palm tree, but I turned around and looked, and the palmetto bush leaves were moving and bolted.
That's supposed read " taller palm" not dollar palm. Siri does not always understand what I'm saying .

That’s not my experience with Bettas . But two males in the same tank is instant aggression. I bought a female and slowly introduced her to the male and she tore him to pieces. So I gave up on breeding bettas.

😂😂. Trust me this was something I've never expected. Well i did have one. But unfortunately this creatures wont last that long in home captivity. But as you have asked. I don't recommend the home water thing. You better use the water from where ever you caught them from. These creatures tend to eat small invertebrates or you just put some pieces of meat or fish ised in house. And yeah. It's a newt. Let me know if you need any more help.

I am a senior, who has kept many reptiles and amphibians throughout my life. this newt was rescued from a very small drainage pond, which was going to dry up in a couple days. The water was disgusting and I was amazed to find this little guy alive. I decided to take him to a very nice pond with lots of cattails and other aquatic plants and I released them. You should have a good home with plenty to eat. I am retired and planning to travel more so I really couldn’t give him a good home. But if I had decided to keep him, I would’ve provided a very good home with plenty of the right types of food. Again, thank you for your comment and if you’re not a sub, please do.

Sorry, this is private property not open to the public. Florida has many different swamplands north or south of farther south you go more beautiful it is go see the Everglades.
I've been to the Everglades, I live near Loxahatchee Swamp. I've been to Big Cypress Swamp too, I love the swamps of Florida.
I know you told this before but what swamp is that again? I wish I could walk through there, it's magical.
