I just made a swap with my big loader for something that is a much more manageable size! It has a little 3 cylinder deutz air cooled engine on it and a hydrostatic drive. It has an issue with the hydraulic fluid getting aerated very badly, which I believe may have already damaged the main hydraulic pump.       I just realized you meant hrs on the skid steer itself. Duh. Well when I got it, it had 3500 hrs. Hr meter quit 4 or 5 years ago. So lord only knows how many hrs are on it now. I love the machine. It picks up more than any other I had. Buy that arm setup rattles alot. And I've replaced all the pins amd bushings and it changed nothing

    cut that underside you marked so the bottom horizontal part is still attached and just bend it up and weld it to the angled cut. Saves metal and prevents a hard edge for if you're backing up and something just so happens to hit that corner. wont be any sharp edge or weld for it to snag.

      I was gonna do that, but I'd have to be on my back for a while or bending over. Soooo, since I'm all old and shit now, it's faster to just whack it off and weld a piece of 4 inch flatbar in it. Then it'll act like a skid too

    Hey, I noticed that FL250 on the trailer, I got one of those. And I ran with your video of the Leese Neville alternator/welder and got it to work. Fried the diodes twice before putting in an external diode. Works great now. I'll find your other video and explain more on that.

    a variac voltage aduster has alot more windings. it will likely give infinite adjustment. that is a variac in a cruder form.

    I had a hydraulic line come out of the fitting on the right side drive motor. I don’t see anyway to remove the line from the pump. There is just no room. This line goes from the pump to the drive motor. Any ideas?

      Alot of times, you just have to remove other lines first (after marking how they go) to get to the one that needs replacing. It sucks, but that's how they make these things so compact. (And same reason dealers charge so much to fix! Haha)

    Have a very similar if not the same model engine in my Oliver track loader. D2300 is what my engine model is ( it's not the one that was factory in the oc96 but it's what my father put in it in the 80s came off a Lincoln welder I believe.but you see em on military surplus stuff too like bomb loaders ect ect

    Interesting, wonder why the cam is setup for 1243 firing order? Normally labeled 1342 for most inline 4 cylinders.

    That looks like a fun project. Funky looking injection pump. If need be, it could be rebuilt. I'm lucky enough to be within half hour of a company that rebuilds pumps. The guy that does it rebuilds any diesel pump under the sun. Its crazy seeing what he has on the workbench at times.

    a 1g milk jug cap should fit that oil fill tube, once it heats up itll fit like a glove. small piece of steel screen slathered with JB weld will patch that hole in pan real good- ive patched up gas tanks with jb, dont worry about it breaking down and melting. i keep a pack of kitchen sink faucet screens with my JB, can patch just about anything. sweet find. been in a townhouse for like 8 years- my tinkering has been severely hampered in that time.. finally just moved into a place with a nice big garage, looking for something similar to build one fckin monster of a low speed rock crawling kart/buggy with some snazzy articulating axles n shit.

      Yes. Closed off air intake. Had dirty injectors and injectors pump rack was stuck

      @hawksights yes. Injectors stuck. Got 2 freed up and gonna have the third one unstuck later this morning hopefully. I'm gonna have a long form video of this setup from where I first got it to where it's running and ready to go. I may have it uploaded to youtube later today or tomorrow.

      And on the last one, I had a different pulley setup that worked alot better. This one is OK for small thin stuff

      yup. different pulley .. differet rpm of alt. hmmm. drimmel a key way on the shaft to make pulley swapping easy?? allows you not to have to rev. engine higher. though likely only benefit for large projects where you will stick with same volt amp for hours.

      Maybe. I wonder if one of those torque convertor clutches would work with a handle throttle? Might be work looking into. You cam get those cheap on ebay

      Yea. I made this video just for fun. I may make another one later with a much bigger flywheel. I kinda believe these will work to a point. But eventually they will stop unless some outside force is exerted on them to keep em moving.

      @@oldironfinder I’ve always been interested in the concept as well. Technically in a way hydroelectric systems are perpetual unless acted on by an outside force and the earths rotation around the sun would be perpetual to most humans however both will obviously not function in perpetuity as the sun will eventually die and water flow changes. Even though “perpetual motion” isn’t technically possible in my mind if it functions for your entire lifetime it was perpetual for you haha.

      Yes. I've always liked this concept too. I think it would be feasible. To a point. Even if you had something to run for x amount of time and then had an outside force act on it to get it going, you're technically still getting some "free" motion, which could be energy. Especially with enough flywheel. In my opinion

      You got the single cylinder kohler? If so, it's really easy to get out. Should just be the choke and throttle cables, one belt, the 4 mounting bolts and battery cables.

      Thats kool. I figured if it had a plug in it, that it would indeed go on water. But there's nothing definitive online about em that says so. I just assumed. And of course, I'm gonna make sure mine does. Haha. I'll probably mount a bilge pump in it just in case!
