In one sense there's no "when" for this to be based off. Westeros (and Planetos) is neither real nor realistic in any physical, historical, or astronomical sense. In another sense the plot is very loosely based off the Wars of the Roses in England.

You should definitely take notes... there are things in this season that set the stage for future events. Everything's connected.

Yeah I had the same reaction when learning about the Legion using Human Brains. 😱 The light novels give more in-depth perspective about the legion and more about the 86, and more. There is a lot of heavy stuff coming in the episodes and no spoilers just it is heavy feels.

Garmelie is a faun. I'd say more but spoilers. "Makin' My Way" is a running gag. At one point during the campaign, the DM said, "You make your way..." then someone started singing the beginning of "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton; it became a running gag and they started doing it every time anyone said a permutation of "make my way" during the game. I met Cheech (and Chong) not too long ago and got a photo. I wanted to ask how he got on this show, but there was a long line behind me and I didn't want to take up more of their time than to tell them it was an honor to meet them.

as a note: in game, Craven Edge did kill Grog - it sucked out his soul. he had to not rest or lose the increased Strength it gave him, so he had to roll his saving throw twice and take the lower one. His first roll was a 20... when he remembered his disadvantage a couple minutes later, he rolled a 1. Bam, dead, and Pike had to bring him back. And yeah, that was Sam Riegel and Ashley Johnson singing... Sam's been doing all of Scanlan's songs, but Ashley has an amazing voice (as does Laura, who sings the Torch Song version over the end credits) getting Cheech Marin to voice Trinket was a stroke of genius.

Not sure y u haven't added subtitles😮 They've been speaking foreign languages since ep1. U mite as well stop & rewatch. Uve missed a LOT. Fyi u don't need to pause sound during scene blocks. U should really look at other reactions to the eps uve seen to learn how to edit ths show

Ancient dragons are a little more powerful than androsphinxes like Kamaljiori, so it made sense. But it was a shock to fans of the campaign, because it played out entirely differently - they had a riddle to find out the name of the Sphinx, no dragons whatsoever, and Kammy lived. I suppose killing him added weight.

Fido is unique, there are other robots like him but this Fido is very unique, and Shin named him Fido. You will get to understand more in the later episodes. Theo's words are true in every way and not knowing their true names is like they aren't even human and Lena never once asked because she remembers the rules from the military, to never get closely personal to the "processors" meaning do not get too close to the 86. Even though she is seeing them as human beings but not once asking for their real names instead of just saying they're codenames and/or even using 86 to identify them.

"she's literally the avatar" - considering she's played by Janet Varney, voice of Avatar Korra... yeah, yeah she is. In the current (2014) rules of D&D, a druid of 10th level and higher can turn into an elemental - and this was a great way to show her attaining that ability. "I think you'll be needing this" was a callback to what Vax said when he caught her staff in the very first episode. Grog is a half-giant - a goliath in D&D terms. and yeah, these are half-giants like him. and Ripley's motivations are her own... and are never good.

For Shin, the nickname "Reaper," and Codename, "Undertaker," maybe fire and cool sounding, but also those names are a Heavy Burden for him. You will get to understand why those names are a Have Burden for Shin. You will get to learn things that will blow your mind in 86 and learning more about Shin, and Lena. -Most of the music in 86 (not the two openings in 86 season 1: part 1 and part 2) was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, the same composer for AoT and the new recent anime Solo Leveling. Before attacking the legion you get to hear the beat start in the music and when Shin ordered to fire, the music picked up, The song is called, "THE ANSWER," feat. Laco, Composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. The ending theme is also composed by Sawano, "Avid."

the creature Zahra released is called an Onlooker - because the monster they'd faced on stream (a Beholder) was Wizards of the Coast IP. "Take me instead you raven bitch" is right from the game. They couldn't change such an iconic line. To become the new Champion of the Matron of Ravens, Vax had to accept death/fate, since those are her domains. Granted, in game, his superspeed came from his boots, but they gave it to the armor her for more flash. Percy with the absolute gall to say he didn't know what he would have done differently... dude, you were told not to touch anything, you goaded Vex into helping you and then your carelessness got her killed.

I love 86 it is my top #1 Anime and to me it is a Hidden Gem from other Anime like AoT and Jujutsu Kaisen. 86 is going to be a roller coaster ride of emotions, you'll get confused, get mad, and even sad, and cry. But this Anime 86 is AMAZING!!!

the problem with D&D is that death is always a possibility. in this case, Percy triggered a trap and Vex's player rolled a 1 on her saving throw. I do recommend that you check out the scene from the campaign if you have time. And yeah, kudos to Liam O'Brien as Vax, turning in a heartwrenching performance.

Loving these reactions keep it up! If you’re interested TP Burrow has this in game moment clipped so it’s spoiler free (plus all the other big omfg moments from the game) I remember watching it in absolute bits at the time Liam (vax) really knows how to rip your heart out with just a sound! I was going through similar things to him at the time and it still hits as raw after the 50millionth time rewatching as it did first time! ❤
