The Oak Ridge Boys did a great job on this. I have always loved the Oak Ridge Boys. If anyone is interested take a listen to this same song by the Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield) czcams.com/video/eEUH_W47aJc/video.html . The Righteous Brothers sang the song in 1974. The Oak Ridge Boys sang the song in 1979. Both are equally good. Love both of these groups of talented singers❣❣
Hell, this show was practically a half-hour Chesterfield commercial the way everybody was lighting up in nearly every scene, so EVERY episode was "The Big Smoke".

Why didn't they play HIS turn. I remember this and it was so beautiful. Loretta was overawed to the point of paralysis by the great tenor, but Luciano Pavarotti was a master of warmth and charm. He patiently coaxed the song out of her. This sequence is followed by his turn, I remember being blown away (again) by the sheer beauty of his voice, but for the life of me I don't remember what it was he sang!
