Lyrically this album is miles--light years--ahead of the music/musical arrangement grafted to it by Gilmour & Wright. Some of these songs are just so dense & fresh, lyrically. 'Baby Lemonade' & 'I Never Lied To You' in particular. The Take 1 version of 'Baby Lemonade' actually gives the listener a glimpse into the layer upon layer upon layer of the heart of the song. I hunger for the right artist to take on the artistic journey of reinterpreting/reinventing this album. Hold Syd's original vocals, guitars & breathtaking lyrics close to your heart, & strip out everything else to start fresh. I mean, forget 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond'--Syd had already said his keenly observed goodbye to the band here with 'Wolfpack'. Wow. I had no idea this was what Syd Barrett was about. The idea that he was vacant behind the eyes--already gone, due to drugs or mental illness--makes no sense when you read the lyrics he was writing.

I wonder if he knew this would be his last album because what a Masterpiece to leave for the Planet. Thankyou Syd, we know your amongst the Stars, Forever Shining, Astronomy Master.

Fun fact with Baby Lemonades beautiful intro is that David hit record while Syd was jamming relaxed without him knowing, and it became that Guitar intro <3

Ses disques sont formidables. Ils n'ont pas vieilli. Je les écoute régulièrement.

I'm sad when I don't hear Syds part in Pink Floyd's latter sound. In my ear Syd, is the sound of Pink Floyd. In the strangest way...he brought happiness to Pink Floyds tone in its music. I love Syd!

This is amazing

This is wonderful - the music as well as the songs and guitar. I want to hear from someone who took lsd with Syd. Do they recall anything? What was their experience? Did they ever share experiences? The body of work Syd could have produced is the great loss but maybe it was the industry & not so much the acid which derailed him.

This album is shit. The further away from Syd Floyd got, the better they were.
